Bank Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner

<h2>Job summary</h2>
  <p>The focus of the role will be to refer and signpost to the correct services to support early intervention and prevention of reliance on more specialist services, while reducing pressure on GP practices. Referrals willbe received from primary care health and social care professionals aligned to the practices, as well as external organisations and patient self-referrals. Individuals can be referred to the Community Link</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>

  <p>An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Focus as a Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner, working in our NHS Hull Talking Therapies Service.</p><p>This is a full-time training contract comprising of four days per week in service and one day per week of training at the University of Sheffield. Successful completion of the course will lead to a Post Graduate Certificate in Low Intensity Psychological Interventions and a permanent contract with Focus as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner.</p><p>The training year will quip you with the essential skills needed to deliver assessments and NICE recommended, evidence-based treatments. Once qualified as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner, you will gain access to further career development and progression opportunities throughout your career with Focus.</p><p>The starting salary is equivalent to NHS Band 4 whilst training, rising on successful completion of the qualification.</p><p>Recruitment includes a two-stage interview process. If successful at first interview with Focus, you will be invited to a second interview with the University of Sheffield. The second interview will include a role-play.</p><p>First interviews will be held on Monday 24th November 2025 online.   <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>As part of our Low Intensity CBT Team, you will provide a range of evidence-based low intensity interventions to patients presenting with mild to moderate common mental health problems. Interventions will be provided one-to-one, either in-person, by telephone or online.</p><p>Alongside delivering interventions, you will attend regular case management supervision, clinical skills and line management supervision.</p><p>Our NHS Hull Talking Therapies service works with adults aged 18+ who are registered with a GP in Hull. As per the national NHS Talking Therapies framework, interventions will be delivered in line with the stepped-care approach, with patients being stepped-up to Step 3 high intensity interventions if required.</p><p>To be eligible to apply, you must provide evidence of previous study at degree level, have the ability to study at post-graduate level and have prior experience of working in a mental health or equivalent setting, either in a paid or voluntary capacity.</p>

<p>We are looking to recruit 4 Education Mental Health Practitioners in training to be part of a dynamic forward-thinking innovative team that works into schools and colleges.</p>
<p>The Mental Health Support Team (MHST) is part of a national rollout and has delivered successful result in the East Riding since September 2022. The MHST is part of the Thrive approach to Children and Young peoples mental health framework endorsed through the Emotional and Mental Wellbeing Academy.</p>
<p>The MHST supports schools , colleges and the wider system through advice , support , consultation, whole schools approaches staff raining and targeted interventions using CBT.</p>
<p>The successful candidates will embark on a one-year training course at an identified University to gain a post graduate diploma qualification. The role will be a combination of learning through an active caseload in service, university lectures, portfolio work and assignments<strong>. </strong></p>
<p>Successful candidates must be prepared to step into post January and February 2026.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>The successful candidates will become part of a dedicated team of qualified Education Mental Health Practitioners and Senior Practitioners from multi-disciplinary backgrounds.</p>
<p>The successful candidates will access university for two days a week to undertake learning through face to face and online lectures and experiences.</p>
<p>Under supervision for two days a week the post holders will hold a small caseload to deliver outcome focused evidence-based interventions for children, young people and families experiencing mild to moderate emotional and mental health needs.</p>
<p>The training and service experience aims to equip the post holder with the necessary knowledge, attitude and capabilities to operate effectively in an inclusive, passionate innovative MHST.</p>
<p>The post holder must attend all university based taught and self-study days over a year that is required by the education provider, as specified within the agreed national curriculum and work in the service for the remaining 3 days of the week using their newly developed skills, knowledge and understanding supported by their supervisors and other qualified EMHP's.</p>
<p>On successful completion of the course post holders will move from a band 4 salary to a band 5.</p>
