In this role, you’ll connect with local organisations and services to make sure adults who struggle with reading — as well as potential volunteers — know about the life-changing support we offer.</p><p>This is a role for someone who loves reaching out, building trust, and ensuring no one is left behind because of reading challenges.</p><h3><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></h3><ul><li>Build strong relationships with local partners such as libraries, job centres, housing associations, GP surgeries, and adult education providers.</li><li>Raise awareness of Read Easy’s free one-to-one reading coaching and encourage referrals of both readers and volunteers.</li><li>Represent Read Easy at local events, community meetings, and networking opportunities.</li><li>Identify new referral routes and creative ways to reach adults who need support.</li><li>Maintain an up-to-date contact list and track referral outcomes.</li><li>Gather feedback to help the team strengthen community connections.</li></ul><h3><strong>Time commitment</strong></h3><p>This position is flexible and can mainly be done at times that suit you. The EIP psychological therapies service is integrated within the EIP service and committed to providing support, excellent supervision and todeveloping its staff.</p>   <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>Family work is an integral part of EIP care offered to service users and their carers/family members. You would be responsible for offering high quality family interventions and lead on carer interventions/education programs across the East Kent EIP teams.   <p>We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced occupational therapist with proven clinical skills and an interest in clinical/operational/strategic development to join our team based in Canterbury.</p> <p>The East Kent Rehabilitation Service has a 12 month secondment opportunity for a Band 7 Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist. The successful applicant will deliver occupational therapy interventions as part of the MDT at Ethelbert Road inpatient rehabilitation unit, 6 sessions (3 days) per week and provide occupational therapy leadership to inpatient and community rehabilitation for the remaining 4 sessions (2 days) as part of the wider leadership team.</p> <p>The post holder must hold a full, valid, UK driving licence and have access to a car/vehicle to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).</p>

  <p>The clinical lead occupational therapist is a highly experienced occupational therapist within the multidisciplinary care team.</p> <p>You will lead in identifying, developing and providing the Occupational Therapy contribution within the East Rehabilitation pathway, encompassing inpatient and community rehabilitation,in accordance with the needs of service users and the requirements of the service.</p> <p>Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate therapeutic interventions for service users within one of the inpatient rehabilitation units; and manage a defined caseload of complex service users with occupational needs using evidence-based, service user-centred, hope and recovery, health promotion and relapse prevention orientated principles and practice.</p> <p>Be responsible for providing clinical leadership for junior staff and students through means of supervision, appraisal and training, and managing the quality and performance of the occupational therapy team.</p>

<p>Counsellors&nbsp;on Placement provide emotional and therapeutic support to children and young people aged 4-18 in Place2Be partner schools. As an organisation that has adopted the BACP ethical framework of good practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy, counsellors working within the organisation are dedicated to improving the mental health and well-being of the children they work with.</p>

    <li>Place2Be provides a high level of support to counsellors on placement through regular supervision, tailored training workshops and offers a well-recognised clinical placement*.</li>

    <li><strong>Please note that not all schools will have placements available, but we will try our best to match you to a convenient placement.</strong></li>
    <li><strong>We recruit for Counsellors to start in school in January, April or September in line with school term time. Please note the recruitment and onboarding process can take 2-3 months.</strong></li>

<p>Counsellors&nbsp;on Placement provide emotional and therapeutic support to children and young people aged 4-18 in Place2Be partner schools. As an organisation that has adopted the BACP ethical framework of good practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy, counsellors working within the organisation are dedicated to improving the mental health and well-being of the children they work with.</p>
<ul type="disc">
    <li>Place2Be provides a high level of support to counsellors on placement through regular supervision, tailored training workshops and offers a well-recognised clinical placement*.</li>
    <li>We provide a comprehensive induction programme and clinical supervision is undertaken at the end of each day.</li>
    <li>We need you to be available for a minimum of one day per week to work in a therapeutic capacity with up to 3 children offering one-to-one counselling.</li>
    <li>Placements are term time only and run for one academic year. There are opportunities for you to stay with us beyond one year.</li>
    <li>You will have the opportunity to attend up to six optional workshops throughout the year which are recognised as continuing professional development time.</li>
    <li>Sessions spent with children are accepted as clinical hours towards professional accreditation, and are recognised by the BACP and UKCP.</li>
    <li>A placement is an excellent stepping stone into a job opportunity and career with Place2Be, over&nbsp;⅔&nbsp;of our clinical staff were once Counsellors on Placement.</li>
    <li>We have places available in our projects in both primary and secondary schools nationwide.</li>
</ul>
<p>*<strong>Counting your hours</strong></p>
<p>All clinical hours gained on placement can be used towards accreditation with a body such as BACP and UKCP. However if you need to gain clinical hours for your course, we would strongly advise that you check with your course tutor as to whether child hours are accepted before applying. If your course does not accept child hours but you would like to gain counselling experience of working with Children and Young People, you can still apply for a Place2Be placement as a second placement.</p>

<p>You will be a fully qualified Counsellor, Therapist or studying towards one of these professions at the following levels:</p>
<ul type="disc">
    <li>Diploma in Counselling (Level 4 or above). If you are in your first year you will have completed a full academic year Certificate Course in Counselling or the equivalent of 9 - 12 months.</li>
    <li>Degree, MSc or MA in Counselling or Psychotherapy - if you are in your first year you will have relevant experience of direct work with children.</li>

<p>Place2Be is the leading children's mental health charity providing in-school support and expert professional development to improve the emotional wellbeing of children and young people, families,&nbsp;teachers&nbsp;and school staff. The charity currently provides an embedded mental health service in 500 UK primary and secondary schools supporting a school community of around 243,000 children and young people.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
