  <p>We are looking to recruit an Assistant Psychologist to work with a friendly, lively, supportive, innovative and inspiring team, with a good track record of Assistant's progressing in their career both within Clinical Psychology and other relevant fields.</p> <p>You will join a department of 3 Assistants, 2 trainee Clinical Associates in Psychology, a trainee CBT therapist and 7 qualified Clinical Psychologists, collectively covering the Memory Assessment Pathway, Community Mental Health Planned and Unplanned Pathways and Inpatient Services. The post will be based in the East (Lichfield and Tamworth) though there will be times where the role requires you to travel between, or input into, different MPFT sites, and includes working from home when required with equipment provided by the Trust. There will be plenty of opportunity for peer support and clinical supervision. You will, where appropriate, contribute to the clinical assessment of service users. There maybe times when you are required to conduct audits or service evaluation to assist with the development of the psychology and wider service.   <p>An exciting and interesting opportunity is available for a suitably qualified Clinical, Counselling or Health psychologist to join the General Medicine Psychology team within the Clinical Health Psychology Department at Salford Royal Hospital.</p> <p>You will join a very well-established psychology team providing psychological assessment and care to a range of diagnosis. The post holder will be expected to offer expertise at a senior level in this exciting field of Clinical Health Psychology. Team working will be integral to the role, including involvement in MDT meetings and regular liaison, teaching, and joint working with professional colleagues to support the wider medical/nursing team in relation to psychological aspects of care.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>Support the Consultant Lead Psychologist to provide senior leadership, supervision and support for the members of the general medicine psychology team.</p>
<p>Triage and assess referrals from the 15 medical specialisms,</p>
<p>Lead on service delivery for complex cases within the general medicine service, in collaboration with the service lead.</p>
<p>Lead on several of the areas of the general medicine service as a special interest, developing links with the specialist nurses, members of the medical team, relevant special interest groups and 3rd sector agencies. To develop teaching for the university ClinPsyD Programmes, Health psychology course and the IAPT training in these specialist areas, as required.</p>
<p>To contribute to clinical pathways and development of business cases to maintain capacity for this rapidly growing service, in consultation with the service lead.</p>
<p>Provide specialist assessment and treatment recommendations for individuals accessing the general medicine health psychology service. S</p>
<p>Manage referrals from multiple sources, maintain outpatient clinical psychology waiting lists, and take autonomous management of their own caseload.</p>
