<p>Join the team at Farmfield Hospital in Charlwood, Surrey as a 0.6FTE&nbsp;Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist.&nbsp;</p>
<p>You will be providing strategic leadership and expert psychiatric leadership and clinical oversight within forensic mental health services, acting as Responsible Clinician under the Mental Health Act and delivering high-quality, recovery-focused care to individuals involved with the criminal justice system.</p>
<p>As a Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist, you will take on RC responsibility for male service users on our medium secure wards. The RC will have the support of a non-consultant grade doctor as well as secretarial support.</p>
<p><strong>Where you will be working:</strong></p>
<p>Farmfield Hospital is a 64-bed secure unit with both MSU and LSU wards for male patients. The hospital is purpose built and run by the highly experienced Elysium Healthcare group. The hospital is in the beautiful county of Surrey and has excellent transport links to London and Brighton. Gatwick airport is practically next door!</p>
<p>Working with an established multi-professional team, you will deliver individualised care and have access to a large and supportive peer group of like-minded professionals.</p>
<p><strong>Your responsibilities will include:</strong></p>

    <li>Ensure the adequate working of the Care Programme Approach (CPA) for patients.</li>
    <li>Work constructively with other multi-disciplinary professionals to ensure good patient care and throughput.</li>
    <li>If needed escalate to the Medical Director or Regional Directors any concerns, in relation to the medical staff, within the region. </li>
    <li>Provide clinical leadership to clinical teams including through effective teambuilding and facilitation.</li>
    <li>Contribute to the training, education and development of staff of all disciplines, in particular medical staff.</li>
    <li>Professionally supervise and appraise medical staff as required.</li>

BABCP accreditation is required for Band 7 positions.</p> <p>Our team has strong links to universities and researchers. A key advantage of working in secondary care is the chance to work alongside and learn from highly specialist nurses, psychiatrists, psychologists and psychotherapists (with trainings in systemic, DBT, creative, analytic and CBT). Within Sussex CAMHS we have a strong psychology and CBT team. You will be well-supported with training and CPD, and opportunities for career development.</p> <p>We would expect the therapist to be conversant with IAPT principles, and practiced in using ROMS and disorder specific outcome measures as part of evaluation and of their work, as well as part of ongoing team audit.   <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>As a member of the CAMHS team, you would participate in the core multi-disciplinary assessment and intervention work of the team, and engage in multi-agency liaison work as necessary. You would also be required to participate in the supervision, training and the overall governance requirements of SPFT CAMHS.</p> <p>We operate a pathways model and you would hold some clinical lead responsibilities within these, including decision-making around treatment options, and supervision of low intensity CBT practitioners and trainees. You would also play a lead role in our group interventions.</p> <p>You'd part of a very busy but lively and welcoming CAMHS team, which offers a wide range of individual, group and systemic interventions, and is involved in a number of innovative evaluation and research projects and service developments.   <p>We would like to hear from you if you can demonstrate your commitment to providing high quality care in Counselling for depression at Step 3 within Mind Matters Surrey, NHS Talking Therapies Service. You will be delivering counselling for depression at Step 3 following a stepped care model in line with the national Talking Therapies programme and latest NICE guidance for psychological interventions. The role involves delivering one to one Counselling, Assessments and therapeutic groups.</p>
<p>You must have completed or nearly completed the training in the Person Centred Experiential Counselling for Depression (PCE-CFD) IAPT with experience of working within a Talking Therapies service.</p>
<p>Applicants who have already successfully completed the PCE-CfD training will start at a band 7.</p>

    <ul>  <li>To hold responsibility for own caseload and be responsible for a defined area of the service, working without direct supervision.</li>  <li>To work as a member of the multi-disciplinary neuro-rehabilitation team, contributing to the planning, development and delivery of an effective and efficient service.</li>  <li>To contribute, as a member of the speech and language therapy team, to the evaluation and audit of practice. This may lead to the implementation of specific changes to practice or contribute to service protocols/care pathways.</li>  <li>To liaise with other involved agencies and with clients and carers to provide an integrated service.</li> </ul><p> </p>
