<p>We are looking for an experienced and passionate Suicide Bereavement Worker to work at our Surrey Support after Suicide Service.</p><p><strong>This is a Part time Role working 21 hours a week.&nbsp;</strong></p><p>Imagine being part of an organisation whose common purpose is to help those who are severely impacted by mental illness. The service is a peer led service with staff and volunteers having some form of personal experience of bereavement by suicide. For those with close personal experience, at least three years must have elapsed since the bereavement. The service aims to support those immediately affected by suicide e.g. close family members including the spouse or partner but also to those who have been exposed to suicide e.g. friends, neighbours, colleagues, witnesses, first responders, neighbours, colleges and health and social care professionals. <p>Croydon Drop In (CDI) are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Student Volunteer Counsellors on Placement to work within our award-winning Voluntary Sector services. The post-holder will work within our safeguarding protocols to provide safe interventions for children and young people using evidence-based methodologies. The post holder will safely work with people across different cultural backgrounds and ages and will be committed to equality, diversity and inclusion.<br>
Our team is supported by student practitioners completing their final year of their practitioner studies.</p>
<p><strong>Please note:</strong></p>
<p>Counselling training providers usually require you to obtain a certain amount of client contact hours with adults i.e. 18 years plus, therefore it’s important to note that the majority of clients accessing our CDI counselling services are under 18 years of age. As a student placement provider, CDI makes for an ideal 2nd placement that will ensure you have adequate young people contact hours, largely under 18 years of age, providing you with the learning experiences you need to meet the competency requirements of your training course and provider. It is important to check with your training provider, the cap on the number of under 18 years of age clients permitted for your course.</p>

<p>Farmfield Hospital is a 64-bed secure unit with both MSU and LSU wards for male patients. The hospital is purpose built and run by the highly experienced Elysium Healthcare group.   <p><strong>To be responsible for providing high quality therapeutic support and advice to children and young people, parents and families who present with a range of mental health and emotional needs in relation to the child's experience of sexual trauma.</strong></p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>To deliver therapeutic support and advice to children, young people and families affected by sexual trauma.</p> <p>To undertake high quality direct (assessment and therapeutic) and indirect (consultative, advisory and evaluative) specialist support in relation to children, young people and families referred to STARS</p> <p>To offer therapeutic sessions to a child or young people, on a group, family or individual basis, including pre-trial support and to review progress of the support provided on a regular basis. This can include evening groups for young people.</p> <p>To offer support and advice to the carers of children and young people affected by sexual trauma. This may include individual, group or family work.</p> <p>To undertake ongoing evaluation of the outcome of the interventions provided.</p> <p>To be committed to providing a high quality child focused service for children and young people affected by sexual trauma, highlighting and respecting the wishes of the child or young person.</p> <p>To be able to support the service with providing clinical supervision to others, where appropriate.</p>   <h3>About us</h3>
