  <p><strong>An exciting opportunity has arisen within Adult Secure Care for a full time, permanent, Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist. </strong></p>
<p>This is a development post, the successful applicant will be employed in a band 5 role whilst they follow a preceptorship programme, on successful completion of this programme they will move into a band 6 role.</p>
<p>We are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic individual who is keen to develop their skills and knowledge in this area. We welcome applications from speech and language therapists who are already qualified and those who will qualify this academic year. </p>
<p>You will work into the Adult Secure Care Services as part of an MDT offering a service at the Sycamore Unit, Northgate Park, Morpeth, as well as helping adults move out of hospital to live in the community. </p>
<p>The secure care service is a regional and national service offering care and treatment to adults with diagnoses of learning disabilities, mental health conditions and personality disorders who are offenders and are cared for within conditions of medium and low security.</p>
  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>You will have some knowledge and experience of working with adults who have complex needs and ideally some experience of working in a secure inpatient setting. </p>
<p>You will need to be confident in providing high quality, evidence-based assessments and interventions and have an understanding and experience of working with people with a range of complex issues from a variety of settings and environments. </p>
<p>Under the support and supervision of specialist and advanced speech and language therapists, you will work to support service users to achieve their therapeutic goals by supporting their language and communication skills. You will provide a range of communication interventions with service users both directly and indirectly. </p>
<p>There will be a requirement to share knowledge and skills specific to speech and language therapy to other members of the team including stakeholders. You will liaise closely with fellow professionals to address communication and eating/drinking difficulties as part of a holistic, service user centred service. You will contribute to care plans and provide high quality service user centred care.</p>
<p>You will receive regular support, training and opportunities to develop your skills and knowledge.   <p>An exciting opportunity has arisen in Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust's (CNTW). The role will be for a Peer Supporter for the Complex Neurodevelopmental Disorders Service (CNDS) based at Walkergate Park. CNDS is a specialist second opinion autism spectrum disorder (ASD) service for children and young people. They provide diagnostic assessments where there is uncertainty around diagnosis. In addition, they also provide consultation and management advice to local services concerning children and young people who already have an existing ASD diagnosis.</p> <p>The Peer Supporter role is a valuable part of the multi-disciplinary support that CNDS provides to children, young people and their families. The role is aimed at people with a diagnosis and personal lived experience of being assessed and receiving a diagnosis of Autism. The main intent of this post is to provide support to children and young people going through a diagnostic autism assessment with CNDS. This might involve supporting children and young people with neurodiversity to engage in the assessment, consideration of reasonable adjustments to support children and young people during the assessment and provide post diagnostic support and advice to children and young people and families. </p>

  <p><strong>An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time, permanent, Band 6 Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to work in the Community Children and Young People's Service (CYPS) in the Northumberland team.</strong> </p>
<p>We welcome applicants who have experience working with children and young people although this is not essential. It is essential that applicants are registered as a Speech and Language Therapist and have previous experience working within a mental health, learning disability or neurodevelopmental setting and/or team. We are interested in appointing a dedicated and committed individual who can demonstrate their ability to engage and work collaboratively with others/partner agencies and understand complex systems in order to support effective pathways.</p>
<p>CYPS provide care, treatment and assessment for young people with complex, moderate to severe needs over the whole of Northumberland. </p>
<p>The multi-disciplinary team comprises a highly skilled and experienced workforce of consultant psychiatrists, nurses, psychologists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, psychotherapists, social workers, art therapists and support workers. The team are dedicated, compassionate and always put young people and their families at the centre of everything they do.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>You will provide specialist SALT assessment, intervention and recommendations for children and young people accessing these services. You will work as an integral member of the CYPS MDT and support the ongoing development of the SALT provision in the service.</p>
<p>You should have qualifications and experience relevant in this clinical field and work well as part of a close team and be able to work independently. You will liaise closely with fellow professionals to address communication difficulties as part of a holistic, service user centred service and be confident in providing high quality, evidence-based assessments and interventions and possess excellent communication and organisational skills as well as have the ability to work independently.</p>
<p>The post will be based at St Georges Park Hospital in Morpeth, Northumberland. You will be required to travel to other sites across the Trust as part of the role.</p>

We are looking for an Employment Specialist to support individuals with health conditions (including mental health issues), a disability or complex barriers to employment to gain, retain, or return to employment, following the IPS principles. <p>Counsellors&nbsp;on Placement provide emotional and therapeutic support to children and young people aged 4-18 in Place2Be partner schools. As an organisation that has adopted the BACP ethical framework of good practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy, counsellors working within the organisation are dedicated to improving the mental health and well-being of the children they work with.</p>

    <li>Place2Be provides a high level of support to counsellors on placement through regular supervision, tailored training workshops and offers a well-recognised clinical placement*.</li>
    <li>We provide a comprehensive induction programme and clinical supervision is undertaken at the end of each day.</li>
    <li>We need you to be available for a minimum of one day per week to work in a therapeutic capacity with up to 3 children offering one-to-one counselling.</li>
    <li>Placements are term time only and run for one academic year. There are opportunities for you to stay with us beyond one year.</li>
    <li>You will have the opportunity to attend up to six optional workshops throughout the year which are recognised as continuing professional development time.</li>
    <li>Sessions spent with children are accepted as clinical hours towards professional accreditation, and are recognised by the BACP and UKCP.</li>

<p>Our teams provide a range of services in our partner schools to build resilience early in life through counselling, creative work and play and support a child’s ability to engage in school life.&nbsp; Our work, focused on early intervention, is part of the comprehensive CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) system.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<br>
&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<br>
Through our professional development programme, we are training around 1,200 Counsellors on Placement each year who build their mental health and counselling skills and experience through practice in our partner schools. We also provide a range of professional development programmes on mental health and wellbeing for school leaders, teachers and other professionals who work with children and young people, so we can help to build ‘mentally healthy’ schools and communities where all children can thrive and flourish.</p>
<p>We continue to pilot,&nbsp;trial&nbsp;and explore new ways in which we can develop our practice as well as share learning, expertise and findings from the robust evidence and evaluation we gather. <strong>HRH The&nbsp;Princess of Wales</strong>&nbsp;is our Royal Patron and Place2Be is one of the founding charity partners of Heads Together. We also work collaboratively with a range of charities and expert organisations to leverage best-in-class knowledge and expertise to inform, develop and improve outcomes for the children,&nbsp;families&nbsp;and schools we support.&nbsp;We ask our staff team to share our core values of perseverance, integrity,&nbsp;compassion&nbsp;and creativity, and to have the skills and patience to support some of the UK’s most vulnerable children and families.</p>
