  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>You will assess the needs of children and young people, in relation to their emotional and mental well-being, offering counselling to help them to address these issues.</p><p>You will participate in team development, training, regular supervision sessions as well as attending all team meetings and will help to contribute to the further development and sustainability of the service.</p><p>You will also be accountable for personal conduct and professional practice in relation to all relevant legislation and according to Sunderland Community Children and Young People's Mental Health Service (SCCAYPMHS) policies and procedures.</p><p>You will keep accurate and appropriate records of the work carried out including contributing to the provision of accurate statistical information using the relevant outcome measures used by the service.</p><p>The post requires effective and creative work, and may involve some evening and weekend work. <h2>Job summary</h2>
  <p>The post is 0.5wte Senior Clinical Psychologist/Psychological Therapist for Longview Ward which is the female acute ward at Hopewood Park. The post will be part of the wider MDT working with service users on Longview Ward.</p>
<p>We are delighted to be offering a Band 8a Clinical Psychology post within our Adult Inpatients Service based at Hopewood Park Hospital, Sunderland and are looking for enthusiastic Clinical Psychologists or Psychological Therapists to provide specialist psychological input on our wards. Previous experience of working in an inpatient setting either pre/during or post clinical psychology training is desirable but not essential.</p>
<p>There are three acute adult inpatient wards at Hopewood Park, two male and one female, Each has the provision of a 0.5 WTE (18.75 hours) Psychologist, supported by a 0.5 WTE Higher Assistant Psychologist. There is an 8c Consultant Psychologist post across all the 3 acute wards.</p>
<p>Adult Mental Health Inpatient Services provide multi-disciplinary care using a biopsychosocial model for service users over the age of 18. The acute service provides care for service users with acute mental health needs who require assessment and treatment in hospital. Service users admitted to hospital are often highly complex and have a range of experiences and difficulties including neurodiversity, psychosis, personality difficulties and learning difficulties, risk to self and others, forensic issues and behaviours that challenge.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>The post involves providing expertise in applying specialist psychological assessment, including cognitive assessments, collaborative formulation and interventions with service users and working with multi-disciplinary teams to embed formulation and trauma informed care. This includes individual and group based work and involvement of families and carers. It will involve supporting multidisciplinary staff working with service users through supervision, team formulation, contributing to understanding complex risk, developing behaviour support plans and providing reflective practice sessions and training to the teams. The role may also involve research, service evaluation and audit. You will be supported to develop your skills in these areas and in addition all of the wards have Higher Assistant Psychologist time and this provides opportunities for the development of skills in supervision.</p>

<h2>Job summary</h2>
  <p>An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a Trainee
Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner to work within Sunderland Talking
Therapies and study at Teesside University. The position is full time hours
(37.5 per week) and will be a combination of university and placement days,
paid at Band 4 until successful completion of the course and PWP registration
in place. This employment is dependent on completion of the course and once
qualified, PWPs are paid at NHS Band 5 equivalent. Unfortunately if you are
unsuccessful at completing the course unfortunately your employment contract
will be terminated.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>The PWP course runs for 1 academic year, and you will be required to meet the demands of balancing a high caseload whilst completing the academic components of the role. You will work towards a Post Graduate Certificate in Low Intensity Psychological Therapies and work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary. The training post will equip the post holder to provide a range of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) based self-help interventions to patients with anxiety and depression. The post-holder will attend all taught and self-study days required by the education provider, as specified within National Low Intensity curriculum, and work in the service for the remaining days of the week using their newly developed skills.</p>  <h3>About us</h3>
  <p>The successful applicant will be employed on Sunderland
Counselling Service (SCS) terms and conditions, working within Sunderland
Talking Therapies as a sub-contractor. The successful candidate will be
entitled to SCS benefits such as access to our 24/7 employee assistance
programme to support wellbeing and will be within a
probationary period for 12 months. Sunderland Talking Therapies consists of
a large multidisciplinary team including PWPs, Community Practitioners, High
Intensity Therapies (of multiple modalities) and a counsellor. A Senior
Management Team including Team Managers, Clinical Leads, Senior PWPs, Low
Intensity Service Leads and a Clinical Manager oversee the service and support
staff. Sunderland Talking Therapies also works as a single point of access for
patients entering Talking Therapies or Counselling via Sunderland Counselling
Service, Sunderland Mind and Washington Mind. </p><p>Our PWP workforce is a valuable and highly respected element
of the service. The PWP role in our service is varied and will allow you to
gain a wide range of experience and skills.

<h2>Job summary</h2>
  <p>The Radiotherapy departments at NCCC provide a highly specialist clinical technical service in the treatment of cancer patients, receiving approximately 7800 new patient referrals per year.</p> <p>Radiotherapy involves the use of ionising radiation in targeting tumours; the radiation is delivered to the patient using highly complex equipment including CT, MRI and Linear Accelerators. The radiotherapy departments in both Newcastle and Carlisle benefit from state-of-the-art equipment which includes 8 linear accelerators, 2 CT scanners, an MRI scanner and an SXT unit in Newcastle and 2 linear accelerators, a CT scanner and dedicated slots on a diagnostic MRI in Carlisle.</p> <p>The Radiographers who operate the treatment machines and imaging equipment are educated to degree level and have a thorough understanding of the principles of oncology, radiation physics, radiation safety, radiobiology and care of the cancer patient. Patients may attend the department for a single episode of treatment or for a course of treatment lasting up to 6 weeks. Typically, between 35 - 50 patients receive radiotherapy per day on a treatment machine. The team of Radiographers take responsibility for management of the patient workload and assessing the patient's condition on a daily basis. The service has responsibility to train BSc radiotherapy students in collaboration with Sheffield Hallam University and the University of Liverpool across both BSc and MSc programmes and including apprenticeships.</p>
