<p>We are looking for an experienced and passionate Suicide Bereavement Worker to work at our Surrey Support after Suicide Service.</p><p><strong>This is a Part time Role working 21 hours a week.&nbsp;</strong></p><p>Imagine being part of an organisation whose common purpose is to help those who are severely impacted by mental illness. The service is a peer led service with staff and volunteers having some form of personal experience of bereavement by suicide. For those with close personal experience, at least three years must have elapsed since the bereavement. The service aims to support those immediately affected by suicide e.g. close family members including the spouse or partner but also to those who have been exposed to suicide e.g. friends, neighbours, colleagues, witnesses, first responders, neighbours, colleges and health and social care professionals. This application is for Guildford area.</p> <p>This post would be ideal for someone who wishes to use their own experiences of Prison and/or the Criminal Justice Service to help others who are accessing support for the Primary Care Mental Health Treatment Requirement.</p> <p>Experience of peer support work is desirable, but not required, as the role depends more upon your ability to use your personal experience to support others and your aspiration to do so whilst being part of a NHS team that is supportive, approachable and dedicated to the role. Training will be provided.</p> <p>The ability to commute independently across the Guilford area is essential.</p> <p>The foundation of peer support is based on the recognition that there is no better person to support the path towards recovery than someone who has walked the same path as that individual. <p>The Royal Surrey Cancer Centre is focused on providing excellent patient pathways and patient-centred care.We strive to continuously evolve to reflect the technical advances within Radiotherapy, and work closely as a multi-professional team to achieve this. We have two Varian Halcyon units and a Varian Ethos unit, which enable us to deliver daily online adaptive radiotherapy. These units complement our four Varian TrueBeams and 3 CT Scanners across the two sites, within an Aria environment. External beam treatment planning is carried out using the Varian Eclipse system, and includes use of knowledge-based planning, autocontouring and scripting for automated workflows. We use MR imaging in treatment planning and further development of PET/CT is underway. The successful candidate will manage the planning team, initiating and leading on research and development projects to enable continuing implementation and expansion of state-of-the-art radiotherapy techniques.They will provide scientific support at the highest level for all aspects of the external beam radiotherapy service and ensure production of accurate, safe treatment plans within appropriate timescales.</p>

  <p>The post is based in our main site at the Royal Surrey County Hospital, Guildford.  Guildford gives easy access to the beautiful North &amp; South Downs Way, is an hour from the coast and has great transport links to the surrounding counties of Berkshire, Hampshire and Sussex.   <p>This post sits within the Children and Young Peoples Learning Disability Service within Mindworks at Surrey and Borders. The Children's LD Service is a Surrey County Wide Service, with 4 bases: Redhill Leatherhead Chertsey and Godalming. This post is being advertised as a development post, however if you have the relevant knowledge and experience for a Band 8a you are also able to apply.</p>
<p>The service is a friendly welcoming and supportive Team, made up of Nurses Psychology Music Therapy and Psychiatry along with Admin colleagues. There is a monthly Business Meeting and twice monthly clinical issues meeting, with a quarterly LD Forum.</p>
<p>The post holder will hold a case load of young people and provide appropriate interventions / support.
