Senior Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist

<h2>Job summary</h2>
  <p>We're looking for enthusiastic Senior Psychological Therapists or Psychologists to join our Pain Management team as part of an integrated multidisciplinary service.</p>
<p>The main base for this role will be Southend Hospital, but you will also work at one of our other sites within MSE -- most likely Orsett or Basildon Hospital. The Pain Service operates across all MSE locations, including Broomfield, Southend, Basildon, and Orsett.</p>
<p>The team works with complex mental health patients with complex Pain Management issues.</p>
<p>You'll provide specialist psychological assessments and deliver evidence-based interventions. We're looking for candidates with skills in CBT and/or ACT, and experience in running both group and one-to-one sessions.</p>
<p>You should be committed to teamwork, and to involving service users and carers in their care. Experience working with diverse and multicultural communities is essential.</p>
<p>This role offers a great opportunity to develop your skills in psychosocial interventions within a supportive multidisciplinary team (MDT) environment.</p>

  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <ul>
<li>Psychological assessment and delivery of 1:1 short term therapy for Pain Service patients whose needs are suitable for short term psychological interventions.</li>
<li>To facilitate onward referral to appropriate services where the patients' psychological needs cannot be met within the Pain Service.</li>
<li>Psychological assessment for suitability for Pain Management Programme (PMP).</li>
<li>Involvement as part of a multi-disciplinary team in the provision of PMPs for suitable patients.</li>
<li>Provision of consultation, psychological education and advice to colleagues within the multidisciplinary team.</li>
<li>Monitoring and collating clinical outcome data and reporting these data to the wider team and senior management of the service.</li>
<li>Initiating and managing audit and research projects relevant to practice within the Pain Service including dissemination of outcomes.</li>
<li>To provide clinical and line management supervision to Band 7 Psychological Therapies staff within the Pain Services across all hospital sites.</li>

  <p>NELFT is the largest providers of Mental Health Support Teams (MHST's) in England.</p> <p>The MHST's deliver evidence-based individual and group interventions in educational settings for children experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties aged 5 to 18 years old. The teams also have a strong focus on whole school approaches to improve mental health outcomes for children and young people.</p>  <p>The Mid Essex MHST covers a large geographical area incorporating the districts of Braintree, Chelmsford, and Maldon. Each designated MHST will work in collaboration with schools and other agencies who cover a population of up to 7,000 children and young people.Trailblazer sites were established in Kent in 2019, with the service aim to cover 50% of the schools across Kent and Medway by 2026. <p>We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity to join our progressive and friendly radiotherapy team. Our department is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including Elekta Linear Accelerators and a Halcyon system with Ethos software--enabling the delivery of advanced adaptive radiotherapy.  We use CRAD SGRT throughout the department. We also operate a busy and well-established brachytherapy service, treating a range of prostate, gynaecological, and skin cancers. Imaging is supported by a Toshiba wide bore CT scanner.</p>
<p>This competency-based role offers flexibility and scope for development. You will have the opportunity to rotate through all key areas of the department--including CT, pre-treatment checking, treatment, and brachytherapy--or, if preferred, specialise in an area aligned with your experience and interests.</p>
<p>We are looking for individuals who can demonstrate a flexible and proactive approach to working. The role will include participation in shift patterns and extended hours to meet service capacity and patient demand. You will also be part of the departmental on-call rota and may be required to work weekends and Bank Holidays as part of our gap management strategy.</p>
