The St Helens Wellbeing Team are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Infant Feeding Supporter Worker to join our vibrant and friendly service. Working alongside our experienced team and valued partners, you'll support parents with all aspects of infant feeding - from pregnancy through to introducing solid foods. This role is ideal for someone who is organised, empathetic, and motivated by making a difference to families' lives. Main duties of the role: You'll provide information, encouragement and support on infant feeding through 1-1 contact, phone support, home visits and group sessions.</p>

  <p>You'll also be involved in borough-wide promotion of responsive and evidence-based infant feeding practices. While experience is welcome, it's your passion for supporting families, ability to build trust, and confidence delivering sessions that will make you stand out. We'll provide full training, and the role includes use of IT systems and digital tools to help us connect with local families. </p> <p>Our service operates: Monday to Friday, 8am-8pm Weekends and Bank Holidays, 10am-4pm. Shifts will be allocated within these times, and flexibility is essential to meet service needs.   <p>Our Clinical Support Workers for the Community Liver Health Checks programme support the roll out of an exciting new pilot project providing community screening of people in hard-to-reach groups for cirrhosis. This project aims to identify people currently using local alcohol and drug services or other community services and engage them in screening for cirrhosis, offering interventions to help their liver health. This project will aim to provide patients with support to attend screening and provide direct to patient incentives to encourage attendance at screening.</p> <p>The post holder will work closely with the Hepatology Service at MRI and the Infectious Diseases outreach service at community sites, with the community outreach work coordinated strategically by the Greater Manchester Viral Hepatitis Operational Delivery Network (ODN).</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>The post will be working in the community with a base at Manchester Royal Infirmary and the post holder will work operationally with the Operational Delivery Network for Greater Manchester and Eastern Cheshire.</p>
<p>The role entails blood tests and performing fibroscans (a type of ultrasound for assessing liver health - full training will be given), delivery of results and engaging patients found to be cirrhotic in preventative health care to encourage them to attend for further hospital screening and offering them health promotion advice. The role holder will work closely with our partners in drug services, probation services, homeless services, and primary care. This will include programmes with existing peer support schemes available within those organisations and the voluntary sector.</p>
