Nutritionist - Weight Management

<h2>Job summary</h2>
  <p>Working as a Healthy Lifestyle Advisor on ABLs Specialist Weight Management Programme , you will be working with adults to support, motivate and advise those who are currently overweight or obese. You will be passionate about working with individuals to begin the life changing processes necessary for permanent and continued weight loss and weight maintenance.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>The postholder will deliver ABL Healths adult weight management programme through one-to-one and group sessions, both in-person and online. They will lead multi-disciplinary assessments and develop personalised care plans in collaboration with GPs and psychotherapists. Using evidence-based approaches, motivational interviewing, and SMART goal-setting, they will support clients to make sustainable lifestyle changes. The role includes monitoring progress, supporting referrals to Tier 4 services, contributing to service resources and performance reports, and engaging in webinars and promotional events. Accurate record-keeping, flexibility to travel, and participation in training, meetings, and ongoing service development are also essential.</p>

    <p>You will be joining a large team of behaviour change specialists in ABL Health including, Nutritionists, Dietitians, GPs, Psychotherapists and Exercise Specialists to deliver evidence based, holistic and realistic weight management to people in the community.</p><p>You will understand challenges and barriers that adults face with relation to their health (both physical and mental) and wellbeing. You will engage with and build a good rapport with adults from varying communities across N.E Lincolnshire/N Lincolnshire.</p><p>You will deliver our existing programmes of weight management as well as supporting the development of new nutrition and exercise programmes that meet the needs of our clients. The ideal candidate will be passionate about promoting healthy lifestyles and delivering motivational change which is client centered. You will have a background in nutrition, exercise, public health, community health and adult weight management. The candidate should be an excellent team player and have a willingness to learn and develop.</p><p>At ABL Health we dont believe in diets but promote long term sustainable change which focuses on evidence-based principles of healthy living.</p><p>Duties and Responsibilities</p><p> Deliver ABL Healths adult weight management programme including nutrition, behaviour change and exercise delivery to groups and one-to-ones, in the community and through digital methods such as Teams/phone appointments.</p><p> Lead on the delivery of multi-disciplinary assessments working closely with ABLs GP and Psychotherapist to determine an appropriate, person centred care plan.</p><p> Deliver evidence-based education around nutrition, physical activity and behavioural change as advised by ABL Health team and in line with ABL Health programme curriculums.</p><p> Deliver programmes with a client centred approach using skills of positive psychology and motivational interviewing</p><p> Monitor clients progress through regular consultation and with the use of Microsoft excel, identifying specific treatment for those not on track to achieve their goals</p><p> Assess and support eligible clients in your caseload to receive a referral to tier 4 for bariatric surgery, remaining up to date with NICE guidance at all times</p><p> Work with clients and stakeholders to co-produce in session materials</p><p> Contribute to the contract performance report by submitting regular case studies to the project lead</p><p> Contribute to and support ABL Healths social media pages</p><p> Working with individuals and groups using SMART goal setting</p><p> Develop and deliver live webinars relating to key nutrition trends and topics</p><p> Keep detailed files, recording data accurately, ensuring all forms and other documentation is completed correctly</p><p> Undertake and complete all mandatory and additional skills training as required</p><p> Have a thorough understanding of ABL Health policies and procedures</p><p> Engage and recruit potential clients at promotional and community events, where required</p><p> Develop curriculum resources to be signed off by the service development</p><p>team and utilised in projects</p><p> Contribute to ongoing service development needs</p><p> To attend and actively participate in team and wider company meetings, such as MDT.</p><p> Be able to organise own workload in order of priority and deadline dates, daily administration tasks and other work-related activities.</p><p> To demonstrate personal and professional development in line with ethos of lifelong learning</p><p> To work within the framework of clinical governance in order to maintain and improve patient care, quality and efficiency</p><p> To be able to work from home within a space that promotes a peaceful and private environment</p><p> To be able to travel flexibly across the project area</p>
