We are looking for an enthusiastic Clinical Associate Psychologist to join our multidisciplinary team at the Leicestershire Adult Eating Disorder Service.</p><p>The team is well established and have been providing high quality care for the residents of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland for over 30 years.</p><p>The team assess and provide individual care plans for recovery through evidence-based interventions and strong therapeutic relationships to patients with a variety of eating disorders, on one to one basis and in group settings.</p><p>Clinical associate psychologists are a key part of our team and the successful candidate will join our current psychology team Clinical Psychologist, Clinical Associate Psychologist and Psychology Assistants.</p><p>The service team also consists of nurses, occupational therapists, psychiatrists, administrators, dietitians, research and evaluation associates. Teamwork and collaboration is highly valued in the service and encouraged from all.</p><p>Experience of working with people with an eating disorder will be a particular strength for the right candidate. However, we are able to offer opportunities for with those with limited experience in limited experience in a developmental role.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>The post holder will work with people who use our services to develop a shared understanding of their eating disorder, how they cope and the impact this has on their mental, physical health and well-being and those around them (psychological assessment and formulation).</p><p>Under supervision of qualified clinical psychologists they will deliver psychological interventions such as CBT guided self-help, CBT and other appropriate therapy models. The post holder will manage their own caseload.</p><p>A good understanding of some of the physical and psychological risks experienced by our patients will be helpful and you will be supported with this alongside training and development opportunities relevant to your role and equipping you with specialist skills.</p><p>You will also be able to take part in our weekly CPD programme, where we have an extensive range of internal and external speakers.

We have a strong culture of research and a continuous drive for improving quality, and there is plentiful opportunity to contribute to our ongoing programme.</p><p><strong>Please note that a full UK Driving Licence and access to a car during working hours is required for this role.

  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>To work as a Specialist Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist as part of psychological therapy and psychology services within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services and care pathways.</p><p>To provide a comprehensive, highly specialist cognitive behavioural psychotherapy service to young people with complex problems for which CBT is evidenced to be clinically effective.

This includes working with children and adolescents who may present with severe and treatment resistant disorders with co-existing conditions.</p><p>To use a broad theoretical knowledge base to provide specialist cognitive behavioural assessments and formulations that inform highly skilled CBT interventions.</p><p>To work as a highly skilled autonomous practitioner, managing a caseload under clinical and case management supervision. To offer consultation and guidance to other mental health professionals, other treatment pathways and community colleagues.</p><p>To contribute to the ongoing development of CBT practice taking into account advances in treatment, theory and research.</p><p>This post requires in-person attendance at clinics, meetings, assessments and liaison with other professionals, which could include attending MDT meetings, for example Strat meetings, child in need and more. <h2>Job summary</h2>
  <p>NHFT have an exciting opportunity to join our well-established psychology team within the Specialist Perinatal Mental Health Service (SPMHS) as a CBT therapist.</p> <p>The SPMHS is an award-winning service that supports women and birthing people who are experiencing, or who are at risk of, experiencing moderate to severe mental health conditions within the perinatal period (from 12 weeks of pregnancy until 24 months post-partum). Some of the mental health conditions that the team work with include postpartum psychosis, postnatal depression, maternal OCD, bipolar disorder, PTSD, tokophobia, and anxiety disorders.</p> <p>The psychology team within the SPMHS comprises of Clinical Psychologists, CBT therapists, Psychological Therapists, and Assistant Psychologists. They provide specialist psychological assessment and therapy in accordance with NICE guidance. This may include EMDR, trauma-focused CBT, CBT for OCD, anxiety and/or depression, Compassion Focussed Therapy, and Parent-Infant Psychotherapy. Interventions are provided on both a group and one-to-one basis. We provide both face-to-face and remote interventions. We also support with psychological thinking and formulation within the team and offer consultations to staff.</p> <p><strong>Proposed Interview Date - 9th January 2026</strong></p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>The post holder will provide specialist psychological interventions involving assessment, formulation, and intervention for women under the care of the SPMHS. The post holder will work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures. The post holder will be expected to work closely with all members of the SPMHS, as well as with the network of Psychologists and Psychological Therapists within NHFT. They contribute to service, practice and clinical governance developments, both within the team and the wider network.</p> <p>The post holder will be involved in multi-disciplinary team discussions to inform psychological thinking throughout the service. They will use their research skills to contribute to audit, service evaluation, and service improvement. They will assist in developing pathways of care to meet the service needs in line with National and Local strategies and evidence-based best practice. There might also be opportunities to become involved with research within the area served by the service. The post holder may also support with staff training, both within and external to the trust.</p> <p>The post holder will work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages. They will use interpreters when necessary and may be called upon to work in various community settings (including women's homes and other community venues).</p>
