  <p>This is an exciting opportunity to join and contribute to a psychologically-led healthcare team. The role is to contribute to the provision of a high-quality, specialist psychology service for young people in two SCHs within the Health and Justice Directorate. The young people present with a range of diverse needs including complex trauma, neurodiversity, and common mental health difficulties (e.g., anxiety and depression). These cooccur alongside concerns about risk to themselves and / or others, as well as risk from others, often in the form of exploitation. The post involves working within a multidisciplinary mental and physical healthcare team to undertake assessments and interventions directly with young people, their families and carers. The role also involves working alongside other Psychology colleagues to implement and embed formulation-led, trauma-informed care throughout both SCHs, in line with the NHS England SECURE STAIRS initiative. This involves exciting opportunities for partnership working including consultation, training, supervision and formulation, as well as innovative service development activities.</p>   <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>This role would particularly suit those interested in working with young people with backgrounds of complex trauma, who pose a risk to themselves and others. Candidates would benefit from previous forensic and clinical experience, with a motivation to develop their clinical experience further. There are opportunities within the team for professional development and training. Current team members have accessed a range of CPD opportunities recently including EMDR training, attendance at national Secure Children's Homes (SCHs) network events and AIM risk assessment training. The team use a range of clinical models including CBT, DBT, CFT, EMDR and Schema Therapy. This post is placed in a challenging but rewarding environment. The post holder must therefore be able to demonstrate a high level of resilience, be able to manage exposure to potentially distressing and emotive situations and disclosures and be able to work with young people who present a risk of serious harm to others or themselves. The post holder should be able to contain and work with organisational strain and be able to understand and contain the stress of others, with appropriate support from the team.</p>

  <p>This is an opportunity to lead psychological care provision in Salford for people identified as being 'at risk' of developing first episode psychosis, and those experiencing first episode psychosis. Salford EDIT and EI teams are multidisciplinary teams with a strong culture of facilitating personal recovery via psychological and psychosocial interventions.</p> <p>The post-holder will lead on the development and delivery of psychological interventions, ensuring high quality evidence-based and trauma-informed practice across the pathway. <p><strong>Your Day-to-Day</strong></p>

Qualified Psychologist - Social Care

<h2>Job summary</h2>
  <p>GMMH Health and Justice Services are looking to recruit a committed and compassionate Practitioner Psychologist or Cognitive Behavioural Therapist to work within the multi-disciplinary mental health team, which implements a stepped-care model of mental health and psychological care, within HMP Styal.</p> <p>We are seeking a full-time HCPC registered psychologist or BABCP accredited High Intensity CBT therapist to join the integrated mental health team, working alongside other psychological professionals including PWP staff, specialist psychological therapists, Practitioner Psychologists and an Assistant Psychologist. The post holder will provide assessment, formulation and medium to longer-term psychological therapy, to individual's presenting with common mental health difficulties of varying complexity, for which CBT has been demonstrated to be clinically effective. They will work closely with other professionals to support responsive step-up and step-down provision across the stepped care model and contribute to the wider formulation and understanding of presenting distress, including attending multi professional meetings to share formulations, treatment plans and progress.</p> <p>A prison environment can be a challenging place to work, we are seeking someone not only with strong clinical skills but also the ability to manage and respond to the dynamic needs of the team, the client group and the environment, to ensure that provision is accessible and appropriate.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>To complete detailed assessments, with the aim of developing collaborative, idiosyncratic formulations to understand an individual's mental health difficulties, emotional distress, complex personality presentations and trauma responses.</p> <p>To deliver evidence-based psychological therapy (CBT) to individuals who are experiencing psychological distress, through the application of knowledge and skills in assessment, formulation and intervention acquired through training, ongoing CPD and clinical experience.</p> <p>To implement a range of outcome measures to ensure ongoing evaluation of therapeutic delivery. </p> <p>To manage own caseload with support from the mental health psychology lead.</p> <p>To contribute to the multi-professional understanding of service-user presentation and support the development of a psychologically and trauma informed environment for the services-users to reside within. </p> <p>To co-facilitate cognitive-behavioural group interventions with support from other psychological staff, and evaluate effectiveness accordingly.</p> <p>To take an active role in the process of multi-disciplinary risk assessment and risk management, utilising relevant assessment tools such as the CRASP.</p> <p>To provide supervision to junior psychological staff, including Psychological Well-being Practitioners and Assistant Psychologists</p> <p>To contribute to the development and delivery of training to the mental health team and health partners, as well as for prison staff and other stakeholders.</p>
