<p>We're looking for an experienced psychological professional whether you're a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist, a BABCP-accredited CBT Therapist, or another qualified psychological therapist to join our friendly and supportive team in South Buckinghamshire. If you're working at a <strong>band 7 or 8a we can offer full-time hours (37.5) or you're working at an band 8b we are able to offer the vacancy part-time working 22.5 hours per week.</strong></p>

  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>As a member of a specialist Psychological Therapies team, you will work closely with colleagues in our CMHT and in-patient teams as well as the newly develop Primary Care Community Mental Health Hubs. You will also liaise with and support psychological therapists working at earlier steps in the Buckinghamshire Psychological Therapies Pathway. You will work with the Clinical Lead, Locality Leads, Team Manager and your team to ensure that the Buckinghamshire Psychological Therapies Pathway achieves its key objectives of delivering integrated, safe, accessible, responsive, effective and caring services to people in Buckinghamshire.</p> <p>You will provide psychological assessments and interventions for adults with severe and/or complex mental health problems, their families and carers. You will provide supervision and management support to other psychological therapists and consultation and guidance to our colleagues in the CMHT. You will have excellent communication skills and will participate in multidisciplinary risk assessment, formulation and care planning. You should be able to demonstrate your experience, skills and qualifications in evidence-based approaches in specialist adult mental health settings, this may include for example CBT or third wave approaches / Schema Therapy / EMDR / DBT / MBT / CAT. <h2>Job summary</h2>
  <p>We are currently expanding the well-established Countywide Early Intervention in Psychosis Team which provides a focussed and specific community service for the population of Bedfordshire and Luton in response to the needs of individuals and their families experiencing a first episode of psychosis. The team works across CAMH services and Adult Mental Health Services with an age range starting at 14 years. We are therefore looking for a skilled and well-motivated Mental Health Nurse to join the team.</p>
<p>The post holder will be a Registered Mental Health Nurse with a sound background of working in a Community Mental Health setting and Care Coordination within CPA. The post holder will be expected to work flexibly to ensure delivery of full care packages. They will also provide psychosocial interventions and undertake specialist assessments which will require a good understanding of At Risk Mental States and Psychosis. The team therefore strongly supports ongoing professional development and structured Behavioural Family Therapy, CAARMs assessment tool and Psychosocial Intervention training opportunities are available locally and as part of our regional Early Intervention network.</p>
<p>The successful candidate will join a creative and motivated team who continue to make positive differences to families and individuals across the county. We believe that psychosis is treatable and recovery is expected.</p>

  <p>The post holder will work as an autonomous practitioner holding a caseload as a Care Coordinator within a developing, integrated Early Intervention in Psychosis Team; to work within the principles of the agreed model of care for the service as laid down in the operational policy; to address the needs of individuals and their carers in early stages of psychosis within a recovery based approach. The service is embedded within a vibrant NHS environment that includes adult and older adult mental health services, a primary care mental health team, the Early Intervention Service for psychosis, the crisis team, and the community mental health team.</p>

  <p>This role is crucial in ensuring that patients get timely access to high quality specialist psychological treatments within the Bucks Early Intervention Service. As part of the role, you will:</p> <ul>  <li>Provide psychological assessment and intervention for adults with severe and/or complex mental health difficulties presenting in the Early Intervention Service and their families in outpatient, community and inpatient settings as required. This may include the use of digital technology.</li>  <li>Supervise and support the psychological assessment and interventions provided by assistant and trainee psychologists and other clinical members of the team who provide psychologically based care and treatment, dependent on experience.</li>  <li>Provide ad hoc advice, consultation and supervision on clients' psychological care to colleagues and other professionals as delegated by the Principal Clinical Psychologist.</li>  <li>Work towards the standards, duties and responsibilities expected of a band 8a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist, which, if achieved in line with developmental reviews, will lead to an opportunity for promotion to band 8a.</li> </ul> <p>You will excel at working autonomously, managing a caseload and taking responsibility for the governance of your psychological practice within a multidisciplinary team. You will be familiar with utilising research skills for audit, policy and service development.</p>

  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>The Specialist Clinician &amp; Clinical Lead for Mental Health Support Teams (MHST) is responsible for delivering comprehensive assessments, risk management, and evidence-based interventions for children and young people experiencing emotional and mental health difficulties. The role involves providing clinical supervision, consultation, and training to practitioners, clinicians, and trainees within the team, ensuring high standards of care and professional development. Operational management is a key aspect, including line management, service development, and collaboration with system partners and stakeholders to improve emotional wellbeing in educational environments. The post holder will work closely with schools, families, and partner agencies to develop and implement whole-school approaches to mental health, supporting sustainable improvements in wellbeing. Duties also include monitoring and reporting on clinical work, managing incidents and complaints, and ensuring compliance with legal, statutory, and strategic frameworks. Additionally, the role requires active participation in service planning, evaluation, and innovation, contributing to the ongoing development and effectiveness of the MHST programme</p>
