<p>At the Hellingly Centre, we specialise in the assessment and treatment of people with complex and enduring mental health needs, who have had contact with the criminal justice system.</p>
<p>You will be working with service users who have committed criminal offences, but have also often been victims themselves. Service users regularly experience stigma for both mental health and offending history, so our role is to develop trusting and safe relationships which balance being compassionate, collaborative and supportive with sound risk assessment and management skills.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>As an AHP therapy assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting service users to enhance their health and wellbeing.</p>
<p>You will:</p>

<li>Work together with allied health professions, service users' and their care teams to support effective communication and the engagement in a range of meaningful activities.</li>
<li>Provide feedback and contribute to holistic care plans, aiding service users' recovery and journey through secure services.</li>
<li>Have the opportunity to assist with planning and delivering individual and group sessions, across various domains, including: nature-based - at the on-site allotment, ward gardens and in the community, the Recovery Through Activity programme, education, other vocational roles, e.g. the on-site shop, cooking and baking, music, sensory exploration and modulation, physical activity, art and creativity and participation opportunities.</li>

  <p>The Hellingly Centre is a modern purpose built medium secure unit specialising in the assessment and treatment of people with complex and enduring mental health needs, who have had contact with the criminal justice system.</p> <p>There are 4 specialist wards (2 male medium secure wards - Oak and Ash, 1 female medium secure ward - Blossom and 1 male low secure ward - Elm), each with a strong multi-disciplinary team.</p> <p>We have a range of therapy facilities within the centre including: a gym, shop, music, woodwork and art rooms and Badger's Caf and allotment space on-site.</p> <p>The centre is situated within the beautiful Hellingly Country Park and the Cuckoo Trail is also very close by. The local town, Hailsham is under 10 minutes away by car. There is a direct bus link to Eastbourne.</p> <p>There is a small gym on-site which is available for staff to use.   <p>The CRS is a specialist mental health team working with service users with a primary diagnosis of psychosis who have complex needs including drug and alcohol misuse. Service users under CRS require an intensive level of support to ensure their recovery; some have a history of difficulty forming relationships with mental health services/professionals and may have had multiple admissions to hospital. You will work in partnership with a diverse team of clinicians and support staff including Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Nurses and our third sector partners. </p> <p>In line with our Trust value of 'People First', evidence shows that people who are treated in community and in the least restrictive manner, have better outcomes. In this role you will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, to help us provide this opportunity for our service users in line with national agendas of The Getting It Right First Time a whole system approach to recovery from mental ill health, maximising an individual's quality of life and social inclusion.</p> <p>You will be working under the guidance of a qualified professional in the team and there will mentoring and support available from more experienced peer workers within the Trust. As an integral and highly valued member of our multi-disciplinary team, the Peer Support Worker will provide formalised peer support and practical assistance to service users, empowering them to regain control over their lives and their own unique recovery process.Working collaboratively alongside service users, the Peer Support Worker builds on a person's ability, strengths and their links to social and community services. In the role you will work in partnership with multiple agencies in the community. Peer Support Workers engage with mental health service users to show empathy, share experience, inspire hope and promote recovery with the aim of assisting service users to gain and maintain independence in the community. The Peer Support Worker will assist service users in raising aspirations and developing personal goals, co-produce and co-facilitate groups and increasing individual occupational performance and participation.</p>

  <p>This small, friendly, multi-disciplinary team is based at Arun House in Worthing town centre, due to move into the Worthing Integrated Care Centre (WICC) in April 2025. The service offers support and treatment to people aged 14 - 65 who have experienced either a first episode of psychosis or present with an At Risk Mental State. Practitioners in the team are passionate about their work, and are committed to supporting families and working in a psychologically informed way.</p> <p>The AAW EIP team is one of 6 Early Intervention in Psychosis teams provided by the Trust. The teams have a single service-wide governance group which oversees and leads on the delivery of care. Organizationally, the teams sit within the Trust's Children and Young People's Services division.</p> <p>You will be provided with individual clinical supervision, group supervision for family interventions and opportunities to link with other Peer Support Workers both within EIP and other services for peer support and development.</p> <p>Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust provides mental health and learning disability services in and across Sussex.   <p>An opportunity has arisen for a <strong>Practitioner Psychologist/Specialist Psychological Therapist</strong> to join the <strong>Sussex Eating Disorder Service (</strong>SEDS<strong>)</strong>. We are a passionate multidisciplinary team delivering NICE recommended treatments aiming to provide the best possible care to adults living with eating disorders.</p> <p>Previous experience of working in an eating disorder service is desirable but not necessary, as we offer considerable in-house and external training opportunities (including CBT-T, CBT-E and MANTRA). The post will be supervised by a senior psychological therapist within the team.</p> <p>Covering the whole of Sussex, SEDS provides specialist eating disorder services across a large geographical area.There may be a requirement to travel across the area dependent on service demand.   <p>An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 8a Psychologist, to lead the Long-Term Conditions part of Paediatric Psychological Support Service based at the Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital.</p> <p>The post-holder will be part of a small team of psychologists working with children diagnosed with a range of long-term medical conditions (e.g. inflammatory bowel diseases, juvenile arthritis, epilepsy) living in Brighton and Hove. This role includes close collaboration with another 8a psychologist who leads on working with children with long-term conditions living outside of Brighton and Hove.</p>   <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>The Long-Term Conditions Service offer short-term therapy, as well as consultation and training to support the needs of children diagnosed with long-term medical conditions. as a service, we draw on a range of therapeutic approaches including CBT, systemic, mindfulness, ACT and EMDR. The focus of this role would be to oversee the incoming referrals to the service and responses to these, including holding a clinical caseload and supervising the clinical work of a band 7 psychologist (and at times a trainee clinical psychologist). This role would suit a flexible and dynamic practitioner who is able to develop treatment plans that are tailored to the needs of children, young people and their families, which might include individual, parent-child, parent or group work, as well as close liaison with medical teams and other agencies. There is room for innovation within the service, with previous practitioners offering Tree of Life groups, Woodland Wellbeing days and sea swimming groups to support young people to have a different experience of themselves and build their confidence. Opportunities to develop appropriate staff training and group work is also supported where this meets a clinical need. The post-holder would be encouraged to supervise or co-supervise a trainee clinical psychologist.</p>

<p>A rare opportunity has arisen within the QVH therapy team based from our recently refurbished Rehabilitation Unit onsite at QVH. You will treat a caseload of patients as outpatients attending the unit, in classes but this role includes delivery of rehabilitative therapy within the patients residence. The majority of the caseload is a mixture of frailty patients or those with chronic conditions including falls patients. A smaller portion of the caseload also includes those with neurological disorders and anxiety.</p>
<p>Ability to independently travel around the local area efficiently is essential as the majority of sessions occur within the patient's residence in East Grinstead and surrounding villages (Lingfield, Forest Row, Felbridge, Copthorne, Crawley Down, Turners Hill, West Hoathly, Sharpthorne).</p>
