<h2>Job summary</h2>
  <p>The SET CAMHS crisis and therapeutic home treatment team offer assessment and interventions to those young people presenting with mental deterioration or crisis presentations. As a service we now work within the Thrive model and implement collaborative care plans with our community services and community SET CAMHS team to promote positive outcomes for vulnerable young people and their families-there are opportunities here for join working and co-ordinating alongside the community based teams. Our approach to working is being developed with a focus on meeting the needs of the young person to ensure effective clinical practice and brief therapeutic interventions, and to reduce risk to have a stabilising impact within a containing approach. Within the service there are opportunities for development and training in various therapeutic approaches, and all new starters will be provided with a full induction and opportunities to shadow the team and to learn about the various departments/teams within the SET CAMHS model. We also welcome candidates from internal teams who may be interested in career progression and are wishing to enhance their practice and skillset in relation to this client group. Regular clinical supervision and reflective space is offered to members of the team, and the team operates on a shared risk model to ensure that decisions are made collectively with effective formulations of need.</p>
  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>The post holder will benefit from being part of a friendly, supportive, dynamic and developing service based within Essex. The successful candidate will work alongside highly motivated colleagues and have access to effective supervision, both individually and group formats, and be supported with CPD requirements through relevant training. There will also be additional training and development opportunities as the service grows and develops, including opportunity to contribute to the care of young people within the A&amp;E pathway.</p>
<p>We are looking for candidates who have enthusiasm and passion for meeting the needs of young people in crisis and supporting the families who support them, as well as being adaptable, enjoying variety, working independently, as well as understanding the relevance of team working.</p>

   <p><strong>Probationary Period</strong></p> <p>This post will be subject to a probationary period. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment.   <p><strong>Exciting Opportunity: Join Our Recruit to Train Programme!</strong></p> <p>Our service has an exciting opportunity for a Recruit to Train Trainee CYP RtT - CBT Anxiety and Depression to join our team as part of the NHS England (NHSE) funded Children and Young People (CYP) Psychological Training Programmes (formerly CYP-IAPT).</p> <p>Recruit to Train is a government-funded initiative aiming to grow the child mental health workforce to meet much needed demand.   <p>We are recruiting a Band 7 Senior Clinical Supervisor to lead our newest Mental Health Support Team (MHST) in Havering, launching in January 2026. Locally known as the Havering Emotional Support Team (HEST), our service began in 2022 with two teams, expanded to a third in 2023, and is now growing again. This is an exciting opportunity to shape and develop a new team, working at the forefront of children and young people's mental health and wellbeing.</p>
<p>Our MHSTs work in partnership with schools, colleges, and community services to provide early access to evidence-based support. We are a motivated, multicultural team passionate about innovation, quality improvement, and research, with recent collaborations including projects with Edge Hill University.</p>
<p>As Senior Clinical Supervisor, you will provide leadership, supervision, and clinical expertise to ensure high-quality care for children, young people, and their families. You will also build strong relationships with schools and local partners to embed a whole-school approach to emotional wellbeing across Havering and Waltham Forest.</p>
<p>The MHST Senior Supervisor/ Senior Therapist will be responsible for the caseload management &amp; supervision of the Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHPs) . The post holder will also work with other senior colleagues in developing MHSTs and facilitate wider service transformation.</p>

The team provides a rapid response service to adolescents with severe and complex mental health problems who are at risk of inpatient admission.   <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>As an Occupational Therapist in the service, you would be part of a multi professional clinical team and carry a caseload in the A2 (Acute pathway) or ARP (Assertive rehab pathway) . You would support the delivery of specialist assessments and recovery focused and occupation-based interventions in line with Royal College of Occupational Therapy national practice guidance. You would also be involved in the delivery of core interventions, taking on the clinical leadership for that hub and supporting any innovation and ongoing service development. There would also be opportunity to support variety of involvement projects within the service and the Forensic Recovery College too. </p>
