			Are you an&nbsp;experienced and innovative HCPC-registered Practitioner Psychologist&nbsp;looking to take the next step in your career?&nbsp;This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a&nbsp;multi-disciplinary psychological therapies team which covers both male and female adult acute inpatient wards (23 beds in total) at Potters Bar Clinic.

You will be joining us at an exciting time as we are developing a new pathway for young adults who present with complex trauma, and you will have a key role in contributing to this service development.&nbsp;There are opportunities for further training relevant to the therapeutic work.

You&nbsp;will provide a clinical service of specialist psychology assessments and interventions to a number of adult service users with&nbsp;acute mental health needs&nbsp;on the ward. You will also provide a specialist clinical perspective in relation to other service users with whom you might not be directly involved. Potters Bar uses a formulation driven and trauma informed model of care.
Reporting directly to the Lead Psychologist, you will be responsible for individual and group interventions, diagnostic and cognitive assessments, MDT working and risk assessments. You will also facilitate staff reflective practice sessions and be requested to design and deliver training.
As a Psychologist, you will have experience and knowledge in carrying a service user’s caseload, including assessing complex needs and designing and delivering specialist psychological treatments to support their care plans.&nbsp;&nbsp;

As a Psychologist you will be:
<ul>
 <li>Working autonomously to provide a specialist psychology service to patients as agreed by Consultant Psychiatrist, Therapies Lead, Consultant Clinical Psychologist and in discussion with wider MDT.</li>
 <li>Undertaking specialist assessments.</li>
 <li>Providing specialist interventions according to formulations based on an appropriate conceptual framework, NICE guidelines, evidence from research, and in accordance with the wider MDT formulation and interventions.</li>
 <li>Be involved in running therapeutic groups on the ward as agreed.</li>
 <li>Continually monitor risk of all patients for whom there is direct contact, or regarding which the post holder receives relevant information, ensure acute risk is managed, liaise with MDT (and in particular responsible psychiatrist) regarding risk, and update electronic record including risk assessment as required.</li>
 <li>Ensuring that all clinical work is adequately recoded in the electronic patient record.</li>
 <li>Attending ward rounds (and other MDT meetings), case conferences, CPAs as required, and provide reports in advance for these in accordance with local procedures.</li>
 <li>Preparing clinical; reports as required, e.g. assessment reports, discharge summaries.</li>
 <li>Liaising with internal and external colleagues as required</li>
 <li>Completing all recording and reporting tasks associated with clinical work.</li>
 <li>Facilitating ‘reflective practice’ sessions for the ward-based staff as agreed within the psychological therapies team and in discussion with wider MDT.&nbsp;Please note that the reflective practice sessions take place at 7:30am and 7:30pm to cover day and night ward-based staff. There is flexibility in the working arrangements to accommodate these working patterns.</li>
</ul>
&nbsp;To be successful in this role, you'll need:

 <li>Have BPS recognised psychology degrees</li>
 <li>Be HCPC registered</li>
 <li>Have understanding of evidence-based psychological practice</li>

Join Rhodes Wood Hospital, a supportive and experienced team as a Consultant Psychiatrist within our Tier 4 Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CYPMHS), providing specialist care for young people aged 12 to 18 with eating disorders. You will work in a service that delivers evidence-based, individualised treatment programmes designed to meet each young person’s unique needs.
As a CYPMHS Consultant Psychiatrist, you will review referrals, conduct admission assessments, and ensure effective management plans are in place. You will lead risk assessments, oversee physical health evaluations, and provide clinical leadership, supervision, and reflective practice for key workers within the team. Your role will include supervising non-training grade doctors and psychiatric trainees, participating in the on-call rota (currently 1 in 6), and supporting cross-cover arrangements for colleagues during leave periods.
You will uphold governance standards, maintain accurate records, and ensure culturally competent practice aligned with safeguarding requirements. Collaboration is key—you will establish strong working relationships with GPs, CYPMHS community teams, commissioners, and other stakeholders to ensure continuity of care. Participation in clinical governance, annual appraisal, and CPD is essential, alongside an interest in research and teaching to support service development.
As a CYPMHS Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be required to:

<h2>Job overview</h2>We are offering placement at the Dunraven Secondary Phase to Counselling or Psychotherapy students who require practical counselling experience with 11–18-year-old students to supplement their studies.The number of clinical hours will be dependent on trainees’ availability; however, we would advise a minimum of 4 hours per week so this can be beneficial to your studies and our students.You will be working with secondary school-aged students and will demonstrate an ability to deal with confidential matters in a supportive and therapeutic manner, the primary focus being the well-being of our students.The school’s aim is “Excellence for All”, and the trustees wish to offer such placements to candidates of significant ability and enthusiasm who are aware of and stimulated by the challenges and potential of a successful, multi-ethnic coeducational school.Start date: Not applicable.
