<p>Working as part of a transdisciplinary team, you will provide formulation-led, person-centred care in our Neurobehavioral Rehabilitation service which provides care and treatment for adult males and females with acquired brain injury and challenging behaviour. </p>
<p>Supervising an Assistant Psychologist and working closely with clinicians from a range of disciplines, your specialist input will be key in achieving good patient outcomes. With the support of the team, you will administer neuropsychological and psychometric assessments that support the formulation of behavioural interventions seeking to manage challenging behaviour and enhance rehabilitation. </p>
<p>You will support therapeutic sessions by engaging in induvial and groupwork sessions, where appropriate, alongside other members of the team, and will assist in clinically relevant administrative duties, including developing and conducting audits, analysing and interpreting behavioural data, and developing and delivering staff training. In addition, you will join the senior management team and input into clinical governance, ensuring that the psychologically led model is both evaluated and effective. There are also opportunities to conduct research within the service. </p>
<p>You will be provided with supervision and support from the Clinical Directors and will be able to access a range of training opportunities to help both you and the service flourish. </p>

<p><strong>What you will be doing</strong></p>
<p>You will work 37.5 hours a week as the Senior Psychologist for a service that offers (Neuro-Forensic Acquired Brain Injury rehabilitation for adult males).</p>
<p>In collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and under the direction and supervision of the Joint Heads of Psychology, you will support the delivery of psychology services across St Mary’s Hospital. In the absence of the Joint Heads, you will act as the primary point of contact between the psychology department and the senior management team.</p>
<p>As the Senior Psychologist you will have active participation in multidisciplinary team work, ensuring that our service users are fully engaged in their care pathways. It also includes supporting clinical team efforts through both direct interventions and the facilitation of staff training programmes. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of new initiatives and ways of working within the service and working in partnership with both internal and external agencies to enhance treatment pathways for service users.</p>
<p>There is a strong emphasis on teamwork, supervision and CPD, with support from a regional network of Psychologists.</p>
<p><strong>As a Senior Psychologist you will be:</strong></p>
<ul>
    <li>Providing psychological assessments of patients based upon the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of complex data from a variety of sources including psychological (and neuropsychological) tests, self-report measures, rating scales direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with clients, family members and others involved in the patient’s care.</li>
    <li>Formulating plans for the formal psychological treatment and/or management of acquired brain injury and forensic risk designed around the patient’s needs, and employing methods unpinned by relevant evidence-based practice and appropriate conceptual frameworks.</li>
    <li>Implementing a range of psychological interventions for individuals within and across teams.</li>
    <li>Acting as psychologist for a ward and/or group of patients as directed by the Joint Heads of Psychology.</li>
    <li>Developing and managing groupwork programmes and innovative therapeutic approaches and ensuring that appropriate outcome measures are in place.</li>
    <li>Taking a key role in Psychology service developments, providing an evidence-based approach to new clinical initiatives.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>To be successful as a Senior Psychologist, you'll have:</strong></p>
<ul>
    <li>Successful completion of a Doctorate level qualifcation in applied psychology (clinical, forensic, counselling) either through the British Psychological Society or a recognised training body, enabling registration with the HCPC as as Practitioner Psychologist.</li>
    <li>Experience (either pre-training, on training, or subsequently) of working with clients with complex needs that are relevant to the service population. This can include forensic, neuropsychological rehabilitation, learning difficulty, neurodiversity and complex trauma.</li>
    <li>Competency in psychological assessment and formulation skills and an aptitude for learning new assessment methods including standardised cognitive assessment (WAIS, RBANS etc)</li>
    <li>A well developed competency in structured risk assessment and management tools.</li>
    <li>Experience in one or more therapeutic modalities (CBT, DBT, CAT, CFT, EMDR etc)</li>

You will work closely with varying stakeholders within the region, including the PROSPECT Provider Collaborative.</p> <p>Post holder will support the provision of psychology services in a specified area, in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and under the direction and supervision of a Senior/Principal/Consultant or Lead Psychologist. You will maintain high quality ensuring adherence to national guidelines, legislation, organisational protocols and play a key role in Psychology service development through an evidence-based approach.</p> <p>As a registered psychologist you will participate fully with the multidisciplinary team and stakeholders as part of the project work. You will review processes, guidelines and standards to help guide service user engagement in their care pathway and will be under the supervision and management of the clinical director. You will support clinical team working, including support for interventions and training programmes. With Wellbeing support and activities to support your mental health, a range of benefits that can save you money and make a difference, and development to nurture your career.</p> <p><strong>What you will be doing</strong></p> <ul> <li>To provide knowledge and experience of supporting the provision of psychology services in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams</li><li>To support and advise on psychological assessments of patients based upon the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of complex data from a variety of sources including psychological (and neuropsychological) tests</li><li>To support and advise implementation of formulating plans for the formal psychological treatment and/or management of service users mental health problems based upon an appropriate conceptual framework of the patient's problems, and employing methods based upon evidence of efficacy, across the full range of care settings.</li><li>To support and advise on implementing a range of psychological interventions for individuals within and across teams employed individually and in synthesis, adjusting and refining psychological formulations drawing upon different explanatory models.</li><li>To provide guidance in ensuring Psychology practices in the specified area of service maintains the highest standards of professional practice and ethics, complying with clinical governance standards at all times.</li></ul> <p><strong>To be successful in this role, you will have:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Successful completion of a Doctorate level qualification in applied psychology either through the British Psychological Society or a recognised training body, enabling registration with the HCPC as a Practitioner Psychologist.</li><li>Experience (either pre-training, on training, or subsequently) of working with clients with complex needs that are relevant to the population in the service area. This can include learning difficulty, neurodiversity and complex trauma.</li><li>Experience of providing clinical supervision to Assistant and trainee Psychologists, as directed by the Lead Psychologist</li><li>Experience in assessing, formulating and working therapeutically with patients in the service area.</li></ul> <p><strong>Where you will be working:</strong></p> <p>Location: Arbury Court, Townfield Lane, Winwick, Warrington, Cheshire, WA2 8TR</p> <p>Arbury Court provides medium and low secure care and Psychiatric Intensive Care (PICU) for women aged 18 years and over with Personality Difficulties and mental illness.
