<h2>Job summary</h2>
  <p>An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Sunderland Talking Therapies to appoint a Qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner. The position is for either a qualified PWP who holds a PWP accreditation or a Trainee PWP who is nearing the end of training due to be ratified, and wants to develop their skills and experience within our team. The post is full-time (37.5) however we are open to applications for part-time hours. The post holder will work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and should be committed to equal opportunities.</p><p>Please be aware we would not shortlist an application if we suspect the use of AI.</p><p>Interviews for this post will be on 8th or 9th December at Monkwearmouth Hospital.</p><p>The successful candidate should: </p><ul><li>Have successfully completed an academic course of study in line with the IAPT Low Intensity National Programme and be qualified as a PWP.</li> <li>We are also interested in receiving applications from current Trainee PWPs who are enrolled on a PG Cert in Low Intensity Psychological Therapies and are due to qualify.   <p>The Durham &amp; Darlington NHS Talking Therapy Service is a joint venture involving TEWV, Mental Health Matters and Sunderland Counselling Service.</p> <p>The teams consist of High Intensity Therapists, PWPs and Counsellors as well as our Employment Team and the opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and dedicated High Intensity Worker to join our team to cover maternity leave on a 6 months fixed term contract</p> <p>Are you a qualified High Intensity Therapist (CBT) who wants to be valued and welcomed into a supportive, dynamic and expanding team?   <p>As a High Intensity Therapist you will be working with clients who have a range of anxiety and depression related problems for which CBT is demonstrated to be clinically effective. You will hold a caseload for individual work (face-to-face and remotely delivered), amongst other duties. We welcome applicants who have experience of managing a caseload and who have experience of working within a NHS Talking Therapy Service.</p>
<p>You will be expected to be flexible and provide out of hours clinics as required by service need and demonstrate a willingness to travel. Durham and Darlington NHS Talking Therapy Service currently operates Monday- Friday covering some early morning/early evening working through 1:1 clinics which all staff are expected to offer.</p>

High Intensity Therapist

  <p>We welcome applications from staff who are currently coming to the end of their training in Clinical or counselling psychology that on successful completion will achieve the required qualification and registration with HCPC as Practitioner Psychologist. Trainee counselling psychologists are eligible to apply for and to be shortlisted for interview and to be offered qualified posts when they are in their 3rd year of the doctoral training and have the following confirmed as completed by the university. This information may be requested prior to interview: a. All clinical competencies. b. 80% of the 450 supervised clinical practice hours (360 hours)</p> <p>Trainee clinical psychologists are eligible to apply for and to be shortlisted for interview and to be offered qualified posts when they are in their third year of training, as they will have completed their core clinical competencies by this stage of the course.</p> <p>This vacancy is open to either an experienced Senior Applied Psychologist (Band 8a) or Newly Qualified Applied Psychologist (Band 7) as a development post depending on experience.   <p>We are looking for a compassionate Applied Clinical Psychologist to join our Darlington Community Team as part of the Mental Health Services for Older People (MHSOP). The post would suit an enthusiastic Psychologist who values co-creation, collaboration and being embedded within a multi-disciplinary team. There are significant opportunities for innovation, service development and improving access to effective MH care for older people and families living with dementia. Core to the role is the provision of governed therapies, formulations and specialist assessment. The postholder will also provide clinical leadership, helping to improve cultures of care including personalised and purposeful care plans guided by need and best practice. There are significant opportunities to support workforce development through supervision and training, and working towards TEWVs ambition to be a trauma-informed organisation.</p> <p>The post holder will provide specialist assessments, formulation, governed psychological therapies and neuropsychological assessment as well as being part of an active multi-disciplinary team. Make a Lasting Impact.</strong></p><p>Do you have a passion for helping young people express themselves through creativity?<br>Are you looking for a rewarding role where you can use art to support emotional wellbeing and personal development?</p><p>Smart Education is currently recruiting a dedicated <strong>Art Therapist</strong> to work across schools and specialist settings in the <strong>Teesside</strong> area. This is an excellent opportunity for a creative professional who wants to help children and young people explore emotions, build confidence, and develop coping strategies through artistic expression.</p>What You ll Be Doing:<ul><li><p>Delivering individual and group art therapy sessions tailored to students emotional and psychological needs</p></li><li><p>Supporting students to explore feelings, reduce anxiety, and improve self-esteem through creative activities</p></li><li><p>Collaborating with teachers, SEND teams, and pastoral staff to integrate therapeutic support into school life</p></li><li><p>Monitoring and documenting student progress and outcomes</p></li><li><p>Creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for all students</p></li><li><p>Providing guidance to staff and parents on using art-based interventions to support emotional wellbeing</p></li></ul>Who We re Looking For:<ul><li><p><strong>Minimum of 6 months UK experience in an educational, therapeutic, or childcare setting essential</strong></p></li><li><p>Qualified and registered Art Therapist (HCPC or equivalent)</p></li><li><p>Experience working with children or young people in a school, SEN, or therapeutic setting</p></li><li><p>Strong communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills</p></li><li><p>Ability to adapt therapy approaches to individual student needs</p></li><li><p>Professional, reliable, and solution-focused mindset</p></li><li><p>Enhanced DBS (Child or Child &amp; Adult Workforce), or willingness to apply</p></li></ul>What You ll Get in Return:<ul><li><p>Competitive daily pay (£100 £150, depending on experience)</p></li><li><p>FREE access to ongoing CPD and skills training</p></li><li><p>Holiday pay entitlement</p></li><li><p>Support and guidance from a dedicated consultant familiar with your local schools</p></li><li><p>Opportunities to work across a variety of supportive mainstream and SEN schools in Teesside</p></li></ul>About Smart Education:<p>Smart Education is a trusted recruitment agency with over a decade of experience placing exceptional support staff and therapists into schools that value their expertise.
