A qualified therapist/ counsellor, you’ve been working in the profession for at least a year, and now it’s time to take the next step.&nbsp; As a Place2Be Supervising Counsellor&nbsp;your main focus is assessment and formulation of referrals and supporting and overseeing the work of the Counsellors on Placement enabling them to deliver interventions across all year groups and achieve the best outcomes for the young people we support. You’ll still deliver some therapeutic work with children yourself, including some group/whole class work, but ultimately, you’ll be shaping clinical delivery of services within the school you operate.

Job description – EAP Helpline CounsellorLocationHybrid – Working 3 days in Warrington Head Office, 2 days remote working.Main Purpose of the roleWe provide a 24/7 confidential mental health and wellbeing support service to our client’s employees nationwide. Individuals can call our helpline to speak to a qualified counsellor about issues such as depression, anxiety, stress, debt advice and family issues. Place2Be offers a variety of counselling trainings and qualifying courses to help build a mental health work force that can support children and young people.&nbsp;
Working as part of the Place2Be Postgraduate Diploma Tutor team, the post-holder will deliver and develop our very successful Post Graduate Diploma programme which is accredited by BACP and run in partnership with the University of East London.&nbsp;
This role will be responsible for the planning, delivery and evaluation of the Postgraduate training programme, and ensuring that students receive good quality training and support for the duration of their training.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Counsellors&nbsp;on Placement provide emotional and therapeutic support to children and young people aged 4-18 in Place2Be partner schools. As an organisation that has adopted the BACP ethical framework of good practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy, counsellors working within the organisation are dedicated to improving the mental health and well-being of the children they work with.

 <li>Place2Be provides a high level of support to counsellors on placement through regular supervision, tailored training workshops and offers a well-recognised clinical placement*.</li>
 <li>We provide a comprehensive induction programme and clinical supervision is undertaken at the end of each day.</li>
 <li>We need you to be available for a minimum of one day per week to work in a therapeutic capacity with up to 3 children offering one-to-one counselling.</li>
 <li>Placements are term time only and run for one academic year. There are opportunities for you to stay with us beyond one year.</li>
 <li>You will have the opportunity to attend up to six optional workshops throughout the year which are recognised as continuing professional development time.</li>
 <li>Sessions spent with children are accepted as clinical hours towards professional accreditation, and are recognised by the BACP and UKCP.</li>
 <li>A placement is an excellent stepping stone into a job opportunity and career with Place2Be, over&nbsp;⅔&nbsp;of our clinical staff were once Counsellors on Placement.</li>
 <li>We have places available in our projects in both primary and secondary schools nationwide.</li>

*Counting your hours
All clinical hours gained on placement can be used towards accreditation with a body such as BACP and UKCP.
