<p>You&nbsp;will provide a clinical service of specialist psychology assessments and interventions to a number of adult service users with&nbsp;acute mental health needs&nbsp;on the ward. You will also provide a specialist clinical perspective in relation to other service users with whom you might not be directly involved. Potters Bar uses a formulation driven and trauma informed model of care.</p>
<p>Reporting directly to the Lead Psychologist, you will be responsible for individual and group interventions, diagnostic and cognitive assessments, MDT working and risk assessments. You will also facilitate staff reflective practice sessions and be requested to design and deliver training.</p>

<p><strong>As a Psychologist you will be:</strong></p>
<ul>
    <li>Working autonomously to provide a specialist psychology service to patients as agreed by Consultant Psychiatrist, Therapies Lead, Consultant Clinical Psychologist and in discussion with wider MDT.</li>
    <li>Undertaking specialist assessments.</li>
    <li>Providing specialist interventions according to formulations based on an appropriate conceptual framework, NICE guidelines, evidence from research, and in accordance with the wider MDT formulation and interventions.</li>
    <li>Be involved in running therapeutic groups on the ward as agreed.</li>
    <li>Continually monitor risk of all patients for whom there is direct contact, or regarding which the post holder receives relevant information, ensure acute risk is managed, liaise with MDT (and in particular responsible psychiatrist) regarding risk, and update electronic record including risk assessment as required.</li>
    <li>Ensuring that all clinical work is adequately recoded in the electronic patient record.</li>
    <li>Attending ward rounds (and other MDT meetings), case conferences, CPAs as required, and provide reports in advance for these in accordance with local procedures.</li>
    <li>Preparing clinical; reports as required, e.g. assessment reports, discharge summaries.</li>
    <li>Liaising with internal and external colleagues as required</li>
    <li>Completing all recording and reporting tasks associated with clinical work.</li>
    <li>Facilitating ‘reflective practice’ sessions for the ward-based staff as agreed within the psychological therapies team and in discussion with wider MDT.&nbsp;Please note that the reflective practice sessions take place at 7:30am and 7:30pm to cover day and night ward-based staff.   <p>We are looking for an energetic, highly motivated Clinical/Counselling Psychologist or CBT Therapist to join our dynamic Diabetes Psychology Team (30 hours per week).</p> <p>If you are an enthusiastic and motivated clinician with experience in working with people with diabetes or Long-Term Conditions (LTC), and you are passionate about delivering evidence-based psychological interventions and service development, we encourage you to apply.</p> <p>This is an excellent opportunity to develop advanced clinical skills within a multidisciplinary team and be involved in a key service development project. Regular supervision will be provided.</p> <p>The post holder will be responsible for delivering a specialist psychology service to patients living with Type 2 diabetes in Well Street Common PCN and Hackney Marshes PCN.</p> <p>Your work within the Diabetes Psychology team will be central to improving patient engagement, self-management, and overall outcomes, with a specific focus on addressing health inequalities. This includes identifying and working with patients who struggle to attend appointments, as well as providing one-to-one and group-based support for individuals struggling with diabetes related distress. It will also involve wider outreach in the community and skilling up primary care staff to improve effectiveness of patient contact.</p> <p>You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team with disciplines including Endocrinology, Nursing, Psychology, Dietetics, and Diabetes Lay Educators and the wider primary care team.</p>
