We are seeking an exceptional <strong>Associate Director of Psychology</strong>to join our team, focusing primarily on<strong>the Specialist Services in West Suffolk which host the Eating Disorder services and ARFID services across Norfolk and Suffolk</strong>. In Suffolk there are the under 18s and adult Eating Disorder services and Norfolk there is the under 18s ED services.</p> <p>Reporting to the <strong>LocalityDirector of Psychology</strong>, you will provide strategic and clinical leadership to ensure psychological approaches are embedded within multidisciplinary teams, delivering safe, effective, and compassionate care. This pivotal role supports the transformation of services aligned with the Trust's objectives, driving innovation, collaboration, and excellence in psychological care.</p> <p>This is a unique opportunity to lead the development and implementation of specialist psychological pathways for people experiencing a range of difficulties requiring specialist services, while contributing to workforce development, supervision, and training.</p> <p>You will be supported in this role and CPD relevant to the role will be available and encouraged.</p>   <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p> Provide Professional leadership for all psychology staff in the Clinical Network.</p> <p> Provide professional advice on psychological practice and providing assurance on delivery of psychological approaches</p> <p> Develop psychological approaches and interventions and role sot support care delivery across the clinical network.</p> <p> Contribute to the supervision of staff in the service, including professional appraisal and identification of CPD needs across the service.</p> <p> Lead on policy development and implementation of psychological service provision within the clinical network.</p> <p> Working with the multi-professional's leadership team to embed NSFT shared culture and values.</p> <p> Undertake audit, teaching and research activities, and to promote research activity within the clinical network.</p> <p> To ensure that arrangements are in place for the for the systematic governance of psychological practice within the clinical network.</p> <p> Provide a specialist clinical service directly to clients and through provision of expert advice, consultancy and supervision to professional colleagues.</p> <p> To work closely with the director for psychology to ensure the development and governance aims of psychological services are met, within and across clinical networks and/or other functional departments of NSFT.</p> <p> Lead and participate in Trust wide initiatives and projects. </p>   <h3>About us</h3>

Associate Director of Psychology

<p>The Psychology Consultancy UK Ltd is a <strong>growing independent provider of psychological services</strong> to corporate clients and the general public. We operate with a <strong>small, friendly team of passionate and caring psychologists</strong>, supported by an assistant psychologist.</p><p>We deliver our services in a <strong>person-centred way</strong>, ensuring that every individual-client or team member -feels genuinely seen, heard, and valued. Our approach is founded on fostering trust, dignity, and real connection, creating space for thoughtful, compassionate, and tailored support.</p><p>We are delighted to be able to offer opportunities for clinical/counselling psychologists in our post traumatic stress (PTSD) specialist service. (Other service lines include assessments for neurodevelopmental conditions, occupational neurodiversity, and training and development.)</p><p><strong>The Role</strong></p><p>We are recruiting for a combined total of <strong>1.6 WTE sessions</strong> (1.0 WTE based in Ipswich and 0.6 WTE based in Norwich) to support the delivery of a contracted service providing psychological treatment for PTSD to a major public sector client.</p><p>You will be responsible for providing assessment and treatment to individuals (predominantly first responders) referred via their employers' occupational health service.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities include:</strong></p><p>• <strong>Trauma Assessment:</strong> Conducting initial <strong>eligibility assessments</strong> involving clinically screening for PTSD and reporting back to the employer whether the individual meets the contracted criteria.</p><p>• <strong>Specialist Treatment:</strong> Providing treatment covering both <strong>incident-based trauma</strong> and <strong>complex trauma</strong>. This includes delivering <strong>evidence-based treatment</strong> adapted for traumatic stress, such as <strong>CBT, ACT, EMDR therapy, and Somatic-based therapies</strong>. Treatment sessions are mostly face to face, but remote sessions are also available, based on patient preference.</p><p>• Together with the rest of the team, you will be co-responsible for the smooth running of the service in our various clinics.</p><p>A more comprehensive job description is available to applicants on request.</p><p><strong>Essential criteria</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Registered with the HCPC</strong> as a practitioner psychologist in either clinical or counselling psychology and in good standing with all relevant professional bodies. </li><li><strong>Eligible to work</strong> in the United Kingdom.</li><li>At least <strong>two years post-qualification experience</strong> is required. If you have less than the required amount of experience, we are still willing to consider your application and may offer you a development post, please see the notes below.</li><li><strong>Trauma Training:</strong> Prior training in at least <strong>one model of therapy</strong> with an evidence base for trauma, such as <strong>CBT or EMDR</strong>. (Does not need to be to expert level regarding PTSD as we are able to offer development and training.)</li><li><strong>Mobility:</strong> Must be <strong>able to travel</strong> between the Ipswich and Norwich sites.
