To provide clinical services at a high level of expertise, supporting and advising colleagues on all issues concerned with neuropsychological clinical practice and providing expert clinical consultation and professional guidance to clinical neuropsychologists, clinical psychologists and other clinicians within Brainkind.MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Your responsibilities will include:<ul><li>ensuring the provision and development of high quality, innovative, and evidence based neuropsychological rehabilitation practice.</li><li>providing specialist psychological assessment of our service users, using psychological and neuropsychological tests, self-report scales, structured observations and interviews; - formulating and implementing specialist psychological treatment plans for mental health and adjustment difficulties based on a multi-factorial psychological understanding and current evidence-based best practice;</li><li>contributing highly specialist psychological advice to the multi-disciplinary formulation of appropriate therapeutic approaches or intervention plans, and supervising their implementation; - undertaking psychologically based risk assessment and risk management for relevant service users and advising team members appropriately;</li><li>participating in multidisciplinary team meetings concerned with the delivery and development of clinical services; - Supporting Service Managers/Regional Managers in all aspects of managing the service and to report to the Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist.</li></ul>ABOUT YOU:What are we looking for?<ul><li>The successful applicant will have a doctorate in clinical psychology (or equivalent) accredited by the BPS. Overview Arthur Rank Hospice Charity The Patient and Family Support Team (PFST) offers practical and emotional support to patients and families who are known to our Hospice services, including psychological support, social support, spiritual care, counselling and pre and post bereavement support. Position We have an opportunity to join this team as a Counsellor. This is a part time role working 7.5 hours per week, based at the Alan Hudson Centre in Wisbech. Responsibilities As Hospice Counsellor you will be responsible for providing a counselling service for those who are referred needing bereavement and / or counselling. You will be responsible for a complex pre and post bereavement caseload, and you will act in an advisory capacity within the organisation and to local partners. You will be responsible for supporting a team of volunteers as well as supporting and providing student counselling placements. You will need to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills and have the ability to work in highly emotive environments. Qualifications To be successful in this role you will have a qualification in Counselling/Psychotherapy at diploma level (Level 4) or equivalent experience, BACP or UKCP accreditation, or registered with HCPC, evidence of continuing professional development, knowledge and understanding of Ethical Framework for Counselling and Psychotherapy Professionals, sound theoretical background knowledge of grief and bereavement theory and practices, knowledge of legislation and its implications for clinical practice. You will have experience of Counselling in End of Life and bereavement care, Experience of working in a health or social care setting, experience of group work to include health care professionals, experience of effective caseload and workload management, ability to provide training and development for staff in the delivery of quality bereavement care before and after death of a patient.
