  <p>***Only applicants with an existing Education Mental health Practitioner Qualification will be considered***</p> <p>Wigan Mental Health Support Team (MHST) in schools is designed to help meet the mental health needs of children and young people in education settings. Wigan MHST is made up of senior clinicians and higher-level therapists, and Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHPs).</p> <p>The Education Mental Health Practitioner role supports school staff to feel confident in recognising and responding to emerging mental health difficulties. Wigan MHST works with the mental health support services that already exist, such as counsellors, educational psychologists, Startwell, targeted youth support, Wigan Family Welfare, school nurses, pastoral care staff and educational welfare officers.</p> <p>Our Band 5 Education Mental Health Practitioner will be offered regular clinical and case management supervision to support our MHST core functions;</p> <p>Delivering evidence-based interventions for children and young people with mild to-moderate mental health problems.</p> <p>Supporting the senior mental health lead in each education setting to introduce or develop their whole school/college approach.</p> <p>Giving timely advice to school and college staff, and liaising with external specialist services, to help children and young people to get the right support and stay in education</p>

  <p>To be supported through supervision to deliver whole school mentalhealth initiatives alongside young people, school staff, senior leadsand parents.To provide 1:1 brief intervention for mild to moderate mental healthproblems, developing support plans for children and young peopleon a regular basis and discuss in clinical supervision any issues thatneeds addressing.To provide low level intervention including behavioural activation, CBT informed worry and anxiety management interventions, gradedexposure, sleep and stress management, behavioural experiments.</p>

  <p>This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of an expanding service which we are delivering across Bolton: The Mental Health Support Team (MHST).</p> <p>We are looking for skilled practitioners, with mental health experience, who can provide low intensity evidenced based CBT interventions, manage risk and are passionate about young person-centred practice.</p> <p>Successful candidates will play an important part in the in the delivery of high-quality service provision that promotes and improves the mental health and well-being of young people in education settings.</p> <p>As part of a new team, you will be empowered to shape and build the service with further education settings in Bolton. You will help build and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and the wider network.</p> <p>The Current UK Mental Health Support Team Delivery plan is to cover 100% of schools in the UK by 2030, this means there will be ongoing development and growth for the service and our sister services within Trust and Greater Manchester.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>The Mental Health Practitioner will be an integral part of the MHST in Bolton. You will use your clinical skills to listen to the needs of the child, young person and family to provide meaningful evidenced based interventions. You will provide support, advice and consultation to families/carers and other professionals in the life of the child/young person. You will work closely with education professionals to foster a whole school/college approach to mental well-being.</p>

<p>You will work 37.5 hours a week as the Senior Psychologist for a service that offers (Neuro-Forensic Acquired Brain Injury rehabilitation for adult males).</p>
<p>In collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and under the direction and supervision of the Joint Heads of Psychology, you will support the delivery of psychology services across St Mary’s Hospital. In the absence of the Joint Heads, you will act as the primary point of contact between the psychology department and the senior management team.</p>
<p>As the Senior Psychologist you will have active participation in multidisciplinary team work, ensuring that our service users are fully engaged in their care pathways. It also includes supporting clinical team efforts through both direct interventions and the facilitation of staff training programmes. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of new initiatives and ways of working within the service and working in partnership with both internal and external agencies to enhance treatment pathways for service users.</p>
<p>There is a strong emphasis on teamwork, supervision and CPD, with support from a regional network of Psychologists.</p>
<p><strong>As a Senior Psychologist you will be:</strong></p>
<ul>
    <li>Providing psychological assessments of patients based upon the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of complex data from a variety of sources including psychological (and neuropsychological) tests, self-report measures, rating scales direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with clients, family members and others involved in the patient’s care.</li>
    <li>Formulating plans for the formal psychological treatment and/or management of acquired brain injury and forensic risk designed around the patient’s needs, and employing methods unpinned by relevant evidence-based practice and appropriate conceptual frameworks.</li>
    <li>Implementing a range of psychological interventions for individuals within and across teams.</li>
    <li>Acting as psychologist for a ward and/or group of patients as directed by the Joint Heads of Psychology.</li>
    <li>Developing and managing groupwork programmes and innovative therapeutic approaches and ensuring that appropriate outcome measures are in place.</li>
    <li>Taking a key role in Psychology service developments, providing an evidence-based approach to new clinical initiatives.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>To be successful as a Senior Psychologist, you'll have:</strong></p>
<ul>
    <li>Successful completion of a Doctorate level qualifcation in applied psychology (clinical, forensic, counselling) either through the British Psychological Society or a recognised training body, enabling registration with the HCPC as as Practitioner Psychologist.</li>
    <li>Experience (either pre-training, on training, or subsequently) of working with clients with complex needs that are relevant to the service population. This can include forensic, neuropsychological rehabilitation, learning difficulty, neurodiversity and complex trauma.</li>
    <li>Competency in psychological assessment and formulation skills and an aptitude for learning new assessment methods including standardised cognitive assessment (WAIS, RBANS etc)</li>
    <li>A well developed competency in structured risk assessment and management tools.</li>
    <li>Experience in one or more therapeutic modalities (CBT, DBT, CAT, CFT, EMDR etc)</li>
