Good mental health support shouldn't be a privilege that benefits a few, it should be accessible to all that need it, be approachable, and actually helpful.</p><p>We're looking for a Safeguarding Lead and Clinical Supervisor to be responsible for delivering clinical and safeguarding supervision of Spill therapists; ensuring appropriate escalation and management of safeguarding; participating in weekly clinical meetings and other tasks listed in the full job description.</p><h2>Role Description</h2><p>The clinical quality of counselling and therapy received by Spill clients is at the heart of everything we do. To achieve this we need high quality support, guidance, and clinical supervision for our growing team of exceptional counsellors, and to ensure that all safeguarding cases which arise are responded to effectively for the safety of the clients we work with.</p><p>You will be joining a small, robust, ethically and clinically led Clinical Team overseeing the clinical governance, clinical quality and safeguarding of counselling and therapy work delivered at Spill. We currently have over 80 counsellors and are rapidly growing, so this role forms an essential part of the clinical oversight at Spill. You will be working alongside our Clinical Lead, another Safeguarding Lead and Clinical Supervisor, and additional Clinical Supervisors.</p><h2>Duties and Responsibilities</h2><p>The role is responsible for:</p><ul><li>Delivering clinical supervision of Spill therapists, which is needs led and responds to developmental and/or support needs of the counsellors and therapists</li><li>Delivering Safeguarding supervision to Spill therapists when they have raised a safeguarding concern</li><li>Updating and maintaining the organisational safeguarding log</li><li>Ensuring appropriate escalation, management and actions in response to safeguarding</li><li>Participating in weekly clinical meetings focused on safeguarding, clinical governance, and product updates</li><li>Developing and delivering annual safeguarding training to Spill therapists</li><li>Ensuring effective communication to Spill HQ of counsellor needs, views or challenges</li><li>Attending weekly supervision with the Clinical Lead</li><li>Attending monthly reflective meetings with all supervisors at Spill</li><li>Participating in clinical governance tasks undertaken by the clinical team, such as safeguarding case reviews for continuous improvement, screening of risk in intake forms where needed) and management of complaints</li></ul><h2>Essential Criteria</h2><ul><li>Membership of a professional body, such as HCPC, BACP, UKCP, NCPS meeting full criteria for accreditation (where applicable)</li><li>A supervision qualification</li><li>A qualification in a specialist field or modality in excess of a core counselling qualification (e.g. qualification in couples counselling / PCE counselling for depression / EMDR etc.)</li><li>A minimum of 7 years post qualifying experience as a therapist which has included counselling/therapy delivered online via video</li><li>A minimum of 2 years experience as a clinical supervisor, which has included supervision delivered online via video</li><li>Direct experience of managing safeguarding (as a therapist or supervisor) in an organisational setting</li><li>Current valid professional Indemnity Insurance (worldwide cover)</li><li>Experience delivering both long term and fixed term therapy</li></ul><p><strong>It would be a bonus if you also have:</strong></p><ul><li>Experience and/or training in delivering text-based therapy (synchronous or asynchronous)</li><li>Experience of delivering video-based group supervision</li><li>Experience delivering training or workshops remotely</li><li>Experience in the development of clinical governance policies and procedures as a part of a team</li><li>Experience delivering single session therapy</li></ul><h2>Role requirements</h2><p>The role is being recruited to on a contractor/self-employed basis.</p><p>The <strong>minimum</strong> time requirement of the role is 10 hours weekly delivered over Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday and/or Friday. This will include set times for meetings, with the rest of the hours being flexible to respond to service needs. Additional time is available and optional.</p><p>As this is a Safeguarding Lead role, on the above days it is <strong>important that the post holder is able to respond to and effectively manage safeguarding escalations on the day</strong> (between 9am and 6pm).   <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>The Clinician/Supervisor will be responsible for the individual and group supervision of Band 4 / 5 trainee or qualified Education Mental Health Practitioners and Child Wellbeing Practitioners, Band 6, senior wellbeing practitioners, and some aspects of clinical service delivery, including direct psychological interventions with children, young people and their parents, and consultation to schools. Working under the direction of the Clinical Team Lead, and the Operational Manager, they will play an important role in the development of the MHSTs and integration within local education provision, facilitating wider service transformation within the local CYP systems and partnership. The post-holder's clinical work will include: liaison and consultation with schools, developing and co-producing psycho-education / psychological workshops, resources, and other aspects of service delivery and training in schools, and supporting the development and embedding of the MHSTs in schools. </p>
