<p><strong>Primary Care &amp; Mental Health099813£39,906 - £46,049 pa14-Oct-2025 23:30</strong></p><p>The Faculty of Health and Life Sciences at the University of Liverpool is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Postdoctoral Research Associate in clinical forensic psychology to work on a project supported by funds from the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC). The project aims to examine emotion processing and emotion regulation in people with convictions for sexual and violent offences. The project will take a multi-method approach using methods in experimental psychology and psychophysiology.&nbsp;</p><p>You will play a key role in designing experimental paradigms for the collection of behavioural and pupillometry data. The ideal candidate will have experience of experiment design in EyeLink, and/or collecting eye tracking and pupillometry data. <p>Working as part of a transdisciplinary team, you will provide formulation-led, person-centred care in our Neurobehavioral Rehabilitation service which provides care and treatment for adult males and females with acquired brain injury and challenging behaviour. </p>
<p>Supervising an Assistant Psychologist and working closely with clinicians from a range of disciplines, your specialist input will be key in achieving good patient outcomes. With the support of the team, you will administer neuropsychological and psychometric assessments that support the formulation of behavioural interventions seeking to manage challenging behaviour and enhance rehabilitation. </p>
<p>You will support therapeutic sessions by engaging in induvial and groupwork sessions, where appropriate, alongside other members of the team, and will assist in clinically relevant administrative duties, including developing and conducting audits, analysing and interpreting behavioural data, and developing and delivering staff training. In addition, you will join the senior management team and input into clinical governance, ensuring that the psychologically led model is both evaluated and effective. There are also opportunities to conduct research within the service. </p>
<p>You will be provided with supervision and support from the Clinical Directors and will be able to access a range of training opportunities to help both you and the service flourish. </p>

Potters Bar uses a formulation driven and trauma informed model of care.</p>
<p>Reporting directly to the Lead Psychologist, you will be responsible for individual and group interventions, diagnostic and cognitive assessments, MDT working and risk assessments. You will also facilitate staff reflective practice sessions and be requested to design and deliver training.</p>
<p>As a Psychologist, you will have experience and knowledge in carrying a service user’s caseload, including assessing complex needs and designing and delivering specialist psychological treatments to support their care plans.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

    <li>Working autonomously to provide a specialist psychology service to patients as agreed by Consultant Psychiatrist, Therapies Lead, Consultant Clinical Psychologist and in discussion with wider MDT.</li>

  <p>Psychologists are integral and valued key members of the Mental Health Care of Older People's multidisciplinary teams (MHCOP) in each borough across East London. As part of this, they will contribute to the provision of a specialist psychological perspective for the work of the team, providing highly specialist psychological advice and consultation to other members of the team as well as consultation into the borough's residential and nursing homes.</p> <p>They will be responsible and accountable for the systematic provision of a highly specialist psychology service for people with severe, complex and enduring mental health and dementia related difficulties and their families, presenting to the service and across community and, where appropriate, acute physical health and psychiatric settings.</p> <p>They will develop working partnerships with other members of psychology services locally and across East London boroughs, relevant statutory and voluntary agencies, locality services and providers/commissioners as appropriate</p>   <h3>About us</h3>
