  <p></p><p>An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic senior psychotherapist/ psychologist to join our inpatient team.</p> <p>We are redeveloping our female wards, and this is an opportunity to develop new trauma informed pathways and influence the culture of care on the wards through training and consultation.</p> <p>This is an 8a vacancy, however, we welcome applications from psychologists at B7 seeking progression.</p> <p>You will be joining a supportive team of psychologists, therapist and CAPS working across a variety of acute services.</p> <p>We are involved in the Culture of Care programme, NHS England's Quality Transformation aimed at developing safe, compassionate, culturally competent wards. We are committed to reducing restrictive practice. You will take a key role in supporting and implementing these developments, with opportunities to be innovative and influential and will develop your formulation and consultation skills in addition to direct clinical work. Our team promotes practice-based research in acute settings. We have an established inpatient research plan and collaborate with the University of Sheffield. Psychology is highly valued by the ward teams. The post will suit a candidate who has experience and interest in working with people with complex mental health difficulties within an MDT. We will support your ongoing development in a specialty area of clinical practice core to inpatient care, through CPD, supervision and service development.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p></p><p>The post will suit a candidate who has experience and interest in working with people with severe, chronic and complex mental health difficulties within a multidisciplinary team and who can offer both direct and indirect work with service users, their families and staff. You will be involved in offering team formulation, reflective practice and post-incident support, as well as providing a key role as part of the senior leadership team on the ward. Psychology roles are highly valued by the ward teams and a positive approach and commitment to multidisciplinary teamwork is essential.</p> <p>- To provide specialist psychological assessment, formulation and evidence based short term interventions for individuals and/or families with service users who are presenting with highly complex and distressing psychological problems, including psychosis and complex trauma.</p> <p>- To provide clinical leadership and contribute to the provision of a trauma-informed and least restrictive environment through supporting the staff team in their decision making and offering indirect support through team formulation, reflective practice and individual supervision. </p> <p>- To provide clinical supervision to Trainee psychotherapists and Psychologists and Trainee/Qualified Clinical Associate Psychologists.</p> <p>- To ensure the clinical effectiveness of own practice and of service functioning by undertaking research and development activities relevant to acute inpatient settings.</p> <p></p>

Senior Clinical Psychologist

  <p></p><p>To provide a high-quality, specialist clinical psychology service to older adults admitted to the inpatient mental health ward. The postholder will deliver psychological assessment, formulation, interventions and group therapy for individuals experiencing complex mental health difficulties, cognitive decline, and/or dementia-related conditions. They will also contribute to staff training, supervision, and service development, supporting the ward in delivering trauma-informed, person-centred care.</p>

<li>Provide specialist psychological assessments using a range of psychometric, neuropsychological, and observational tools.</li>
<li>
<p>Develop and share psychological formulations to inform multidisciplinary care planning.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Deliver individual and group psychological interventions tailored to the needs of older adults (e.g. CBT, ACT, Compassion-Focused Therapy, reminiscence approaches).</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Offer consultation and advice to colleagues on psychological aspects of care.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Conduct cognitive assessments to assist with diagnosis of dementia and other neurocognitive disorders.</p>
