Our Perinatal team offers a unique opportunity to develop skills in both adult mental health and also to develop skills in parent infant and family work. It is an ideal opportunity for psychologist with an interest in attachment, developmental psychology, infant mental health and working with family systems.</p> <p>The trust wide service is based at Queen Mary's hospital and consists of a multidisciplinary team of professionals including consultant psychiatrists, specialist perinatal nurses, clinical psychologists, CBT therapists, nursery nurses and OTs. We offer a community service for pregnant and postnatal women with severe and complex mental health difficulties. The team has close links with other services, including IAPT, secondary care mental health teams and maternity as well as third sector organisations.   <p>Main Clinical Duties;</p>
<p>The main clinical work undertaken is to provide specialist psychological assessment and intervention for mothers and their babies and families in the community. The post holder will also offer clinical supervision to more junior staff and trainees.</p>
<p>The post holder will be involved in delivering evidence-based individual and group-based interventions. The psychological therapies team include clinical and counselling psychologists, as well as CBT therapists. The successful applicant will be part of a friendly and supportive team. There is an established reflective practice space for the whole team as well as regular individual supervision provided by the senior psychologist. Senior Perinatal Psychological Therapist

<h2>Job summary</h2>
  <p>To provide a high-quality, specialist clinical psychology service to older adults admitted to the inpatient mental health ward. The postholder will deliver psychological assessment, formulation, interventions and group therapy for individuals experiencing complex mental health difficulties, cognitive decline, and/or dementia-related conditions. They will also contribute to staff training, supervision, and service development, supporting the ward in delivering trauma-informed, person-centred care.</p>
  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>Clinical :</p>
<ul>
<li>Provide specialist psychological assessments using a range of psychometric, neuropsychological, and observational tools.</li>
<li>
<p>Develop and share psychological formulations to inform multidisciplinary care planning.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Deliver individual and group psychological interventions tailored to the needs of older adults (e.g. CBT, ACT, Compassion-Focused Therapy, reminiscence approaches).</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Offer consultation and advice to colleagues on psychological aspects of care.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Conduct cognitive assessments to assist with diagnosis of dementia and other neurocognitive disorders.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Support risk assessment and management from a psychological perspective.</p>
</li>
<li>Work as an integral member of the ward's MDT (psychiatrists, nurses, OTs, social workers, physiotherapists, etc.).</li>
</ul>

<p>Contribute to daily handovers, ward rounds, and discharge planning meetings.</p>

<p>Provide psychological leadership to the team in understanding challenging behaviours and emotional distress.</p>
