  <p>This post is part of the Perinatal Psychological Therapies leadership team responsible for overseeing the Psychology provision in their patch. The Clinical Psychology team across the service comprises one band 8b Clinical Psychologist, band 8a Practitioner Psychologists, band 7 Practitioner Psychologists, Assistant Psychologists, Trainee Clinical Psychologists and Honorary Placement Students.</p>
<p>The post holder will actively contribute to the planning, development and evaluation of perinatal mental health services using advanced clinical leadership skills and knowledge to provide training and consultancy in clinical psychology within the specialty area of perinatal mental health. The post holder will be responsible for assessing and treating service users in Camden and Islington. 20% of their workload is expected to be management &amp; leadership and 80% will be clinical interventions. They are expected to hold a highly complex caseload.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p><strong>The current post advertised is for 1 part-time (0.4wte), permanent role for Senior Perinatal Practitioner Psychological Therapist (BABCP accredited): </strong></p> <p><strong>Based in the East Team, with boroughs of responsibility Enfield &amp; Haringey.</strong></p> <p><strong>Important note: The successful candidate will be expected to build community links, referral pathways and provide clinical assessments and evidence based interventions both at their borough of responsibility and their team base. The post holder will jointly oversee the Perinatal Psychology caseload of the East sub-team (Enfield and Haringey) with another 8a already in post.</strong></p>  <p>The post holder will ensure the formulation of profession specific highly specialist care and treatment plans which provide specialist interventions / care to service users with complex mental health conditions. The post holder will be responsible for supporting and supervising band 7 Psychologists and/or trainees, ensuring that the SPMHS Psychology team understands and operates to the requirements of the service line operational policy and service line strategy and that safe, evidence based, NICE concordant, effective, culturally competent care is delivered in a timely manner to service users.</p>

Senior Perinatal Psychological Therapist (BABCP accredited)

<h2>Job summary</h2>
  <p>Candidates will have experience of working in mental health settings and will have eithera registered graduate qualification in nursing, social work or occupational therapy or evidence of using the career framework of training in mental health and experience of working in a stepped care service for anxiety and depression as a qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner.</p>
<p>All positions will be offered at pay band 6 on a 12-month fixed term contract basis. The post-holder will work in the service for 3 days of the week whilst attending the training programme for the other two days.</p>
<p>This is a training role within the Barnet NHS Talking Therapies service (formerly known as IAPT). The post-holder will work within the Talking Therapies service providing high intensity interventions whilst undertaking a programme of training for this role. This intensive training post will equip the post-holder to provide cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) for clients with a range of complex problems for which CBT is demonstrated to be clinically effective. The post- holder will work in the service for 3 days of the week using the newly developed skills whilst attending the training programme for the other two days with Royal Holloway, University of London.</p>
<p>This post will report to and be supported by the Barnet NHS Talking Therapies Clinical Team Leads.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <ul>
<li>Accept referrals via agreed protocols within the service</li>
<li>Assess clients for suitability for CBT. Where the problems appear to be too complex or severe to be appropriate for a trainee therapists to refer to manager/supervisor for advice on how to manage the case.</li>
<li>Make decisions on suitability of new referrals, adhering to the department's referral protocols, and refer unsuitable clients on to the relevant service or back to the referral agent as necessary.</li>
<li>Formulate, implement and evaluate therapy programmes for clients.</li>
<li>Educate and involve family members and others in treatment as necessary, conveying CBT formulations with sensitivity in easily understood language.</li>
<li>Adhere to an agreed activity contract relating to the number of client contacts offered, and clinical sessions carried out per week in order to minimise waiting times and ensure treatment delivery remains accessible and convenient.</li>
<li>Attend and fulfil all the requirements of the training element of the post.</li>
<li>Apply learning form the training programme in practice</li>
<li>Receive supervision from educational providers in relation to course work to meet the required standards.</li>

We aim to meet the needs of these women, who may have had previous inappropriate placements, in a less restrictive setting.</p>

  <p>Cygnet Hospital Beckton is a is a gender specific hospital for women with complex mental health needs.
Situated in the East End of London, the hospital has four different specialist wards including PICU, acute admissions and personality disorder services.
We accept emergency and planned, pre-assessed admissions. Our aim is to support individual service user recovery and integration back into the community, as quickly as possible. We have a multi-disciplinary team of specialists and offer a very broad range of therapies.</p>
