  <p>An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent Band 8a Child &amp; Adolescent Psychotherapist to join our multi disciplinary dynamic CAMHS service. Consideration will also be given too newly qualified child and adolescent Psychotherapist for whom this would be a development post moving to a Band 8a following 2 years post qualification.</p> <p>The role of the Child &amp; Adolescent Psychotherapist is to ensure delivery and development of a high-quality specialist assessment and intervention underpinned by a psycho-analytical framework to compliment the range of psychological/therapeutic services within the multi-disciplinary service.</p> <p>We offer a specialist service to families and young people through face-to-face contacts or indirectly by liaising closely with statutory and voluntary organisations. The Child &amp; Adolescent Psychotherapist will provide assessment, consultation, training, groups and individual interventions for parents/carers and infants, young children and their families and clinical supervision.</p> <p>Postholders will demonstrate an attitude which respects and values service users' and their carers and have a clear understanding of professional boundaries.   <ul>
<li>Ensure that interventions are planned in an integrated and co-ordinated manner particularly where dependent on other external agencies identified through supervision or complex case discussion.</li>
<li>To provide specialist psychological advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals, to assist in the formulation, management and treatment of service users.</li>
<li>To provide reports and communicate in a skilled and sensitive manner concerning the assessment, formulation and treatment plans of clients.</li>
<li>Following consultation be responsible for developing care packages including assessing, planning, intervention and evaluation. Ensuring active involvement of parents and infants</li>
<li>To provide specialist psychotherapeutic assessments of referred families and identify collaboratively the most appropriate treatment for them</li>
<li>Participate in the development / delivery of a programme of training for other professional groups working in parent infant mental health service</li>
<li>Lead on programmes of audit and research within the team and implement the findings</li>
<li>Lead on areas of service development</li>
<li>Deputise for the Clinical Lead in their absence</li>
<li>To provide Clinical Supervision both internally and externally</li>
<li>To contribute to the training experience of trainee Child Psychotherapists / Clinical Psychologists as appropriate.</li>

<p>Our teams provide a range of services in our partner schools to build resilience early in life through counselling, creative work and play and support a child’s ability to engage in school life.&nbsp; Our work, focused on early intervention, is part of the comprehensive CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) system.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<br>

Through our professional development programme, we are training around 1,200 Counsellors on Placement each year who build their mental health and counselling skills and experience through practice in our partner schools. We also provide a range of professional development programmes on mental health and wellbeing for school leaders, teachers and other professionals who work with children and young people, so we can help to build ‘mentally healthy’ schools and communities where all children can thrive and flourish.</p>

<h2>Job summary</h2>
  <p>MFT CAMHS Emerge 16-17 CMHT offer developmentally appropriate accessible and young person centred mental health services to young people aged 16 and 17 years, who live in Manchester Salford and Trafford. Under supervision the post holder will manage a caseload and provide a range of high quality care appropriate to the young person's needs which will include; mental state assessment, risk assessment and management, family and social assessment, consultation and evidence based interventions. The post holder will have a range of mental health and engagement skills and knowledge to deliver care in line with trust values from with in a multi-disciplinary team setting.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>To undertake initial assessment with young people in a holistic and young person-centred way, including gathering of appropriate information from the child / young person, their family and from other relevant agencies</p>
<p>following assessment, to develop a formulation and plan for intervention, In partnership with the young person and those in their support net work and communicating this to the referrer and other relevant professionals.</p>
<p>d  Under Supervision to assist with duty activity, offering telephone support, liaison and consultation services to young people and relevant professionals</p>
<p>To liaise with a range of other statutory and voluntary / 3rd sector professionals working in other young peoples services</p>
<p>i.    To co-work cases managed by other members of the multi disciplinary team.</p>
<p>j.    To work from a multi agency perspective in liaison with other professionals</p>
<p>To attend and contribute to professional meetings.</p>
<p>To keep accurate, timely and thorough records of care provided to all patients, including the compilation of appropriate statistics.</p>
