  <p>This post sits within the Children and Young Peoples Learning Disability Service within Mindworks at Surrey and Borders. The Children's LD Service is a Surrey County Wide Service, with 4 bases: Redhill Leatherhead Chertsey and Godalming. This post is being advertised as a development post, however if you have the relevant knowledge and experience for a Band 8a you are also able to apply.</p>
<p>The service is a friendly welcoming and supportive Team, made up of Nurses Psychology Music Therapy and Psychiatry along with Admin colleagues. There is a monthly Business Meeting and twice monthly clinical issues meeting, with a quarterly LD Forum.</p>
<p>The post holder will hold a case load of young people and provide appropriate interventions / support. This will include working with the family/ carers and wider MDT to ensure a consistency of approach. The post holder will also provide regular supervision to the AP based in the geographical area. They will be supported by the Clinical Psychologist in their development. Alongside regular supervision and appraisal with an identified development plan. The post holder will also contribute to the service ASD Pathway and any other pathways that are appropriate.</p>

<p>The Royal Surrey Cancer Centre is focused on providing excellent patient pathways and patient-centred care.We strive to continuously evolve to reflect the technical advances within Radiotherapy, and work closely as a multi-professional team to achieve this. We have two Varian Halcyon units and a Varian Ethos unit, which enable us to deliver daily online adaptive radiotherapy. These units complement our four Varian TrueBeams and 3 CT Scanners across the two sites, within an Aria environment. External beam treatment planning is carried out using the Varian Eclipse system, and includes use of knowledge-based planning, autocontouring and scripting for automated workflows. We use MR imaging in treatment planning and further development of PET/CT is underway. The successful candidate will manage the planning team, initiating and leading on research and development projects to enable continuing implementation and expansion of state-of-the-art radiotherapy techniques.They will provide scientific support at the highest level for all aspects of the external beam radiotherapy service and ensure production of accurate, safe treatment plans within appropriate timescales.</p>

  <p>The post is based in our main site at the Royal Surrey County Hospital, Guildford.  Guildford gives easy access to the beautiful North &amp; South Downs Way, is an hour from the coast and has great transport links to the surrounding counties of Berkshire, Hampshire and Sussex.  The city offers cultural diversity, is home to the University of Surrey and it is great place to reside and explore. On occasion, attendance at our satellite centre at East Surrey Hospital in Redhill will be required.</p>

      <p>Reporting to the Head of Clinical Services you will hold accountability and responsibility for the SLT provision to all clients within our rehabilitation centre.</p><p>Leading and managing a specialist SLT team in a brand new state of the art rehabilitation centre. The team comprises band 6 and band 5 SLTs, an SLT assistant and we are proactive to have students.</p><p>To contribute to the continued development of a high quality SLT therapeutic service</p><p>To provide specialist dysphagia assessment and intervention to clients who require, utilising compotenceis and experience at a senior practitioner level.</p><p>To provide highly skilled communication assessment and intervention to all our clients with acquired brain injury, such as stroke, ABI and other neurological conditions, utilising compotenceis and experience at a senior practitioner level.</p><p>Delivering 1:1 and group SLT sessions to a range of clients and creating accessible communication and swallowing guidance for the wider MDT.</p><p>Conducting skilled mental capacity assessments independently or jointly with other professionals, as appropriate.</p><p>Having a key-worker role managing and overseeing a specific clients whole journey at QEF, liasing with families, being a single point of contact for all queries, co-ordinating care and discharge packages.</p><p>Advocating on clients behalf in a range of situations, eg. when writing reports, CHC forms and complex DST meetings where highly skilled reporting and ability to deal with questioning is necessary.</p><p>Closely working with the wider multi-disciplinary team PTs, OTs, Psychology team, dietitian, nursing, carers, kitchen staff, activity co-ordinators. Also working with outside agencies, such as social workers, safeguarding, expert witnesses, lawyers, neuro-navigators, DST assessors.</p><p>Working with the Head of Clinical Services and senior management on service development, quality improvement projects and clinical audit</p><p>Providing clinical supervision and expert advice to SLT staff as well as SLT students on placement.</p><p>Responsible for the recruitment within the SLT department with opportunity to support in the recruitment process of the wider CRC staffing remit</p><p>Managing the Speech and Language Therapy team to include sickness absence, performance, appraisals, probationary periods in line with QEF policy</p><p>Supporting and leading on the emphasis on learning and reflective practice within the SLT as well as wider team, providing and participating in training and learning.</p><p>Actively jointly working with our catering company, manager and dietitian to provide high standard of catering in line with IDDSI framework</p>
