  <p>We are looking for a<strong>Band 7 Senior Nurse</strong>to provide clinical leadership, treatment and therapy with a clear focus on clinical risk and its management. The successful candidate will need to influence, lead and motivate staff at all levels within the clinical environment to deliver high quality care according to Trust values, to provide expertise, support and advice regarding all aspects of clinical care including implementing evidence based best practice.</p> <p>Working with people with an eating disorder can be both challenging and rewarding and we are looking for aSenior Nursewho will support the Clinical Team Manager and staff to deliver safe and high-quality care for this complex patient group.</p> <p>This is an exciting time for our Adult Eating Disorder Service, we have an established FREED Pathway and we are also participating in regional pilot projects (Virtual Intensive Treatment and Intensive Clinical Support) whilst also developing our SEED Pathway.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>This role is offered on a permanent basis with the potential for flexibility in working hours and some remote working with the base being either Bury St Edmunds or Ipswich but with the expectation that you will work across both areas.</p> <p>The post holder will be an experienced Eating Disorder practitioner who, acting within their own professional boundaries, will provide care for adult service users with eating disorders. Supporting the Clinical Team Manager and leadership team, the post holder will actively participate in the day to day clinical and operational management of the Adult Eating Disorders Team within the locality, be part of a multi-disciplinary team and contribute to the development of the services they support. They will demonstrate safe clinical decision-making, and sound clinical expertise and knowledge of eating disorders and their treatments. The post holder will support the leadership team to meet the needs of the service users and contribute to service improvements and supervision of other members of the team.</p>

<p>This role offers an outstanding opportunity to be part of a highly collaborative and supportive team, with dedicated assistance from both a Medical Secretary and a Specialist Doctor to facilitate efficient and seamless daily operations.</p>


<p>As a Consultant Psychiatrist&nbsp;, you will work closely with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure that clients receive a holistic and person-centric care and treatment programme based on the recovery model. You will also be expected to support providing high quality clinical care for using the services of the hospital.</p>

<p><strong>As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be:</strong></p>

<ul type="disc">
    <li>Taking clinical responsibility for patients, including multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk reviews, strategic reviews and the development of a therapeutic milieu.</li>
    <li>Fulfilling the role of Responsible Clinician to patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1983).</li>
    <li>Offering a psychiatric perspective to the multidisciplinary team in relation to the assessment, formulation and treatment of patients.</li>
    <li>Contributing to management meetings and clinical governance meetings for the services provided at the hospital, and contributing to the development of service strategy.</li>
    <li>Contributing to in-house training programmes within the services and offering supervision to other members of the multi-disciplinary team, particularly junior medical staff.
        
    </li>
    <li>Maintaining CPD and re-validation requirements, as determined by the Royal College of Psychiatrists or other relevant statutory bodies.</li>
    <li>&nbsp;Being part of an on call RC rota&nbsp;</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>To be successful in this role, you will:</strong></p>

    <li>Be medically qualified, MRC Psych or equivalent</li>
    <li>Be innovative and imaginative with the ability to initiate corporate decisions</li>
    <li>Have essential understanding of current developments in psychiatry and other aspects of mental health</li>
    <li>Have substantial knowledge of change management, relevant legislation, contemporary issues in mental health, knowledge of and experience in purchaser/provider contractual issues</li>
    <li>Have previous Consultant experience in a management role</li>
