			<p>Are you passionate about transforming young lives through expert psychiatric care? Join Rhodes Wood Hospital, a supportive and experienced team as a Consultant Psychiatrist within our Tier 4 Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CYPMHS), providing specialist care for young people aged 12 to 18 with eating disorders. You will work in a service that delivers evidence-based, individualised treatment programmes designed to meet each young person’s unique needs.</p>
<p>As a CYPMHS Consultant Psychiatrist, you will review referrals, conduct admission assessments, and ensure effective management plans are in place. You will lead risk assessments, oversee physical health evaluations, and provide clinical leadership, supervision, and reflective practice for key workers within the team. Your role will include supervising non-training grade doctors and psychiatric trainees, participating in the on-call rota (currently 1 in 6), and supporting cross-cover arrangements for colleagues during leave periods.</p>
<p>You will uphold governance standards, maintain accurate records, and ensure culturally competent practice aligned with safeguarding requirements. Collaboration is key—you will establish strong working relationships with GPs, CYPMHS community teams, commissioners, and other stakeholders to ensure continuity of care. Participation in clinical governance, annual appraisal, and CPD is essential, alongside an interest in research and teaching to support service development.</p>
<p><strong>As a CYPMHS Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be required to:</strong></p>

  <p>This post is part of the Perinatal Psychological Therapies leadership team responsible for overseeing the Psychology provision in their patch. The Clinical Psychology team across the service comprises one band 8b Clinical Psychologist, band 8a Practitioner Psychologists, band 7 Practitioner Psychologists, Assistant Psychologists, Trainee Clinical Psychologists and Honorary Placement Students.</p>
<p>The post holder will actively contribute to the planning, development and evaluation of perinatal mental health services using advanced clinical leadership skills and knowledge to provide training and consultancy in clinical psychology within the specialty area of perinatal mental health. The post holder will be responsible for assessing and treating service users in Camden and Islington. 20% of their workload is expected to be management &amp; leadership and 80% will be clinical interventions.   <p><strong>The current post advertised is for 1 part-time (0.4wte), permanent role for Senior Perinatal Practitioner Psychological Therapist (BABCP accredited): </strong></p> <p><strong>Based in the East Team, with boroughs of responsibility Enfield &amp; Haringey.</strong></p> <p><strong>Important note: The successful candidate will be expected to build community links, referral pathways and provide clinical assessments and evidence based interventions both at their borough of responsibility and their team base. The post holder will jointly oversee the Perinatal Psychology caseload of the East sub-team (Enfield and Haringey) with another 8a already in post.</strong></p>  <p>The post holder will ensure the formulation of profession specific highly specialist care and treatment plans which provide specialist interventions / care to service users with complex mental health conditions.   <p>This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and registered psychological therapist or counsellor to join our dedicated Psychological Therapies Team, working with adult patients across the Trust. <p>We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity to join our progressive and friendly radiotherapy team. Our department is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including Elekta Linear Accelerators and a Halcyon system with Ethos software--enabling the delivery of advanced adaptive radiotherapy.  We use CRAD SGRT throughout the department. We also operate a busy and well-established brachytherapy service, treating a range of prostate, gynaecological, and skin cancers. Imaging is supported by a Toshiba wide bore CT scanner.</p>
<p>This competency-based role offers flexibility and scope for development. You will have the opportunity to rotate through all key areas of the department--including CT, pre-treatment checking, treatment, and brachytherapy--or, if preferred, specialise in an area aligned with your experience and interests.</p>
<p>We are looking for individuals who can demonstrate a flexible and proactive approach to working. The role will include participation in shift patterns and extended hours to meet service capacity and patient demand. You will also be part of the departmental on-call rota and may be required to work weekends and Bank Holidays as part of our gap management strategy.</p>

Our Southend, Essex and Thurrock services cover 144 schools currently. We currently cover 48% of secondary and primary school within those areas.</p> <p>The MHST deliver evidence-based individual and group interventions in educational settings for children experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties aged 4 to 18 years old. The teams also have a strong focus on whole school approaches to improve mental health outcomes for children and young people.</p> <p>The MHSTs build on the support already in place from school counsellors, nurses, educational psychologists and the voluntary sector to support those with mild to moderate mental health issues in school and will help children and young people with more severe needs to access the right support and provide a link to the CAMHS services.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>The post holder will be responsible for delivering interventions within MHSTs in and round schools and colleges whilst receiving clinical supervision.</p> <p>Act as an autonomous, registered (where appropriate) practitioner who is legally and professionally accountable for own unsupervised actions guided by the professional code of conduct and Trust guidelines and protocols.</p> <p>Initiate referrals to other health professional specialist services and agencies.</p> <p>To provide expert emotional wellbeing and mental health support as part of plans to transform CYPs mental health through the NHS Long- Term Plan.</p> <p>To undertake school based and community-based assessments, risk assessments, care plans and to deliver a range of early interventions to CYP with a range of emotional and behavioural difficulties.</p> <p>Responsible, and accountable, for service delivery to clients/patients, via NICE compliant pathways and in accordance with the crisis care concordat.</p> <p>Provide leadership and to promote initiative, creativity and motivation in the MHSTs.</p> <p>To routinely measure clinical outcomes and deliver evidence-based interventions.</p> <p>To communicate complex patient related information facilitating positive outcomes and ensuring collaborative working.</p> <p>To support peers and team leader and be an effective team member whilst working on their own initiative. They will have a commitment to collaborative working and actively support and liaise with other health and social care professionals and agencies.</p>

All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks, including mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process, new starters will also have the opportunity to meet the executive team, senior managers, and attend several drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing, and key processes.
