  <p>Developing and informing referral pathways, facilitating a range of art psychotherapy interventions to individuals and groups, providing consultation to other clinical staff and working as part of the MDT within the community mental health team setting. You will receive clinical supervision from an experienced art psychotherapist, line management support from within the art psychotherapy service, access to training and development opportunities and have the chance to develop your career within a dynamic team in a busy community mental health team setting.</p>

<h2>Job summary</h2>
  <p>Trainee High Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapists are employed on one year fixed term training contract, involving a clinical placement where you will manage a high volume caseload alongside undertaking the Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (PGDip CBT) where you will be required to meet frequent academic deadlines.</p> <p>This is a 12-month training contract, upon successful completion of the course a permanent post will be available. Successful candidates should be available to begin the role in approximately mid-January 2026, exact date to be confirmed.</p> <p>The role requires hybrid working, including both working from home and from either our base in Shrewsbury (Severn Fields Health Village) or Telford (Hall Court), as well as travel within the Shropshire, Telford &amp; Wrekin locality per service need.</p> <p>Training posts available on condition of receiving confirmation of funding - please be aware therefore that number of spaces may change. At the point of academic screening and interview, we will have received funding confirmation and can confirm the number of available posts.</p> <p><strong>All shortlisted applicants must be available to attend a half-day academic screening in September - TBC by the university.   <p>The training post includes two days per week at University and three days of supervised clinical practice within the Shropshire, Telford &amp; Wrekin NHS Talking Therapies service. Trainees are expected to progress to working with a high degree of autonomy, with high volume caseloads including video and face-to-face clinical work. In addition to clinical contact, the role will include data collection, data management, analysis and note keeping.</p> <p>We are a busy caring team consisting of Admin staff, PWPs, CBT Practitioners &amp; Relational Therapists. We serve the people of Shropshire, Telford &amp; Wrekin which has exciting, diverse &amp; growing modern towns, surrounded by stunning Shropshire countryside.</p> <p>NHS Talking Therapies teams are great places to work.   <p><strong>Main duties of the job</strong></p> <ul>  <li>To work directly with an identified caseload of individuals and their carers through a range of methods including, video/telephone call, text and in person face to face sessions.</li>  <li>To draw on own lived experience to offer understanding, support and hope to individuals accessing the service and promote independence and recovery.</li>  <li>Contribute to the individuals group and or 1:1 support to reach their personalised goals alongside other team members, escalating any areas of concerns to the relevant senior staff member.</li>  <li>Drawing on personal experience to help individuals to identify their strengths and triggers and supporting them to establish the things that are important to them in their life, identifying goals and the steps they wish to take to achieve them</li>  <li>Champion a recovery orientated service including promoting involvement, engagement, participation and co-production opportunities.</li>  <li>To co-design and co-deliver recovery orientated, therapeutic groups and activities as equal partners in the development and delivery of activities</li>  <li>Challenge any stigma which may exist within the service, local communities and partner organisations.</li>  <li>Actively promote and support individuals to be involved in the ongoing review and evaluation of services and encourage them to participate in co-designing and co-delivering services as part of their longer term recovery</li>  <li>To participate in peer supervision</li>  <li>Works to policy and protocols within own area of work</li> </ul>   <h3>About us</h3>
