Our house offers a calm, safe environment where residents can take time to stabilise and focus on their wellbeing. We provide therapeutic support to help each person feel ready and confident to return home.   <p>We are looking for an experienced Clinical/Counselling Psychologist passionate about working with complex presentations to join our diverse, dynamic team of skilled practitioners in South Bristol. You would offer evidence based approaches to work with service users and excellent supervision and training for Support and Recovery staff, as well as colleagues.</p> <p>The Complex Psychological Interventions Team (CPI), are part of Bristol Mental Health. CPI offers a range of activities to support psychologically informed care within the secondary mental health service. CPI has a strong presence in the Support and Recovery and the Crisis Teams. We have a unique identity as a group of highly skilled and respected professionals who liaise with senior Bristol management and meet monthly city - wide.</p> <p>CPI is comprised of multidisciplinary professions and provide a range of services both direct to clients, and indirect supportive functions with staff teams.   <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>You will provide specialist assessment, formulation, intervention and evaluation, alongside staff training, supervision, consultation, advice and support to the South Bristol Recovery team. You will also provide clinical and/or management supervision to more junior CPI staff, placements to Clinical/Counselling Psychology trainees and engage in service development work as appropriate.</p> <p>To work within the Assessment &amp; Recovery Services, it is essential for you to have experience of delivering therapy to this client group, and to have been trained in NICE guideline interventions (e.g. DBT, CBT, Family Interventions, CAT, MBT etc). You will need excellent interpersonal skills to support the development of psychological thinking and intervention within multidisciplinary teams. Experience of delivering supervision and training would be essential.</p> <p>We would be especially interested in candidates with experience of supervision and management of Complex Trauma within secondary settings.</p> <p>We also plan this post to include the CPI Service User Involvement lead role. We are looking for a suitable candidate who can bring skills, experience and enthusiasm to meet the needs of children/young people with complex social, emotional, behavioural, neurodevelopmental and mental health needs.</p> <p>In this important role, you will use your extensive skills and experience as a mental health practitioner to deliver high quality care, developing and sustaining relationships across agencies and working as a core member of a multi-disciplinary team.   <p>The post holder will be involved in working within the CAMHS hospital team care pathway, assessing young people that present to an acute hospital and are experiencing a mental health crisis. Clinicians will be expected to undertake a comprehensive mental health needs assessment and be able to identify the forward care pathways for the young person and their carer(s).</p>
<p>We work across all localities including North Bristol, East &amp; Central Bristol, South Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset, and aim to build strong working relationships with all of these services. We cover a 7 day period working a number of shifts. These are 8-4pm, 12-8pm and 4pm until midnight and weekend working.</p>
<p>A proportion of the role will involve working in conjunction with colleagues in the multidisciplinary team to identify care and treatment options which enable service users to remain within their existing support/care pathways and maintain their community tenure, signposting to other services to meet their needs.</p>
<p>The post holder will maintain close working relationships with Community and specialist CAMHS services, Adult Community Mental Health Teams as well as the Acute Hospital Services. Day to day leadership on service delivery and development will be provided by the Team Manager, along with senior clinicians as will caseload and management supervision.</p>

<h2>Job summary</h2>
  <p>The Mental Health Support Teams (MHST) service is an exciting initiative in the Bristol, North Somerset, and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG) commissioning area. It is part of the Government's response to the 2017 Green Paper to increase access to mental health support by delivering evidence-based early interventions in educational settings for children and young people (CYP) presenting with mild to moderate mental health difficulties.</p> <p>The post holder will work as an autonomous and responsible EMHP while also offering supervision within the scope of the MHST initiative.</p> <p>The post holder will work in partnership with schools to deliver a range of mental health interventions within school settings. This may involve group work or direct work with children and young people, as well as offering mental health-based consultation and advice to teaching staff.</p> <p>The post holder will ensure the effective coordination of clinical care provided within schools, including consideration of safeguarding and clinical risk issues where indicated.</p> <p>The post holder will contribute to the clinical leadership of the team, providing supervision and caseload management to trainee and qualified EMHPs.</p> <p>The post holder will be responsible for clinical skills supervision and caseload management supervision of EMHPs within the MHST.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p><strong>Therapeutic Assessment and Intervention:</strong></p>
<p>Assess and deliver outcome focused, evidence-based interventions in educational settings for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties, working at all times in collaboration with and giving respect to the education function of the setting inwhich the post-holder is working.</p>
<p>Facilitate fair access to services and promote social inclusion regardless of age, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation or disability.</p>
<p><strong>Supervision:</strong></p>
<p>Deliver clinical supervision to supervisee's on a scheduled basis to ensure safe practice and the governance obligations of the MHST service are adhered to.</p>
<p><strong>Effort and Health &amp; Safety Factors:</strong></p>
<p>Working with service users in distress and who on occasion may have used coping strategies such as self-harm, or present as hostile, confused and have difficulty communicating and as a result may pose risks to themselves or the safety of others.</p>
<p>Frequent driving and working across multiple sites to deliver interventions and attend to administrative tasks. There is an expectation to work mainly out of allocated schools but the post holder must be prepared to attend satellite sites, our main office and some home working.</p>
