If so, join St Mary’s Hospital as a Forensic Consultant Psychiatrist to provide strategic leadership, expert clinical oversight and recovery-focused care for people within the criminal justice system. Acting as Responsible Clinician under the Mental Health Act, you will ensure the highest standards of psychiatric care across medium and low secure services.
In this role, you will lead the clinical management of a defined caseload, overseeing psychiatric assessments, formulations, and treatment planning. You will provide specialist advice to courts, probation, prison services and MAPPA, and prepare reports for Mental Health Review Tribunals, hospital managers’ hearings, and the Ministry of Justice. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams—including forensic social workers, psychologists, and occupational therapists—you will ensure coordinated care and effective implementation of the Care Programme Approach.
Beyond clinical leadership, you will play a key role in service development, shaping strategy, and contributing to pathway reconfiguration to meet evolving needs. You will actively participate in clinical governance, audits, and risk management processes, supporting quality improvement and compliance with CQC/HIW standards. Your responsibilities will also include teaching and supervision of trainee psychiatrists and junior medical staff, as well as leading research and quality-improvement projects to inform best practice.
As a Forensic Consultant Psychiatrist, you will:

Working 37.5 hours a week, you will provide care and treatment for adult women with a wide range of mental health issues, responsible for delivering care programmes, managing physical and mental health concerns and providing&nbsp;individualised approaches to the care and treatment of people admitted to the hospital.


Arbury Court are seeking a Full Time Consultant Psychiatrist, preferably on the Specialist Register for Forensic to run a medium or low secure ward depending on preference.

Arbury Court is situated outside Warrington, just off the M62 and close to Liverpool, Manchester, and Chester. &nbsp;There are excellent transport links, making the hospital highly commutable from across the North West.&nbsp;

 St Werburgh's practice is a specialist practice for the homeless in Chester.As such many of our patients have complex physical and mental health issues, including substance misuse.We are looking for a counsellor to compliment our small existing clinical team with in-house counselling.This is a challenging but very rewarding work environment and you will be part of a very experienced team.You will also work with outside agencies as we aim to support patients back into mainstream living.



 <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
 
To offer free and confidential one to one trauma informed
counselling to referred individuals with a history of homelessness.To
 respond to the needs of the clients whether this be individual, group or
 drop-in services.
To work in partnership with representatives to support individuals
on a pathway to maintaining their own accommodation.

 St Werburgh's is a very small, specialist practice in Chester and is part of a larger practice, Issa Medical who provide management and clinical support.You will be part of a small team who work closely with patients and wider organisations to support patients who often have complex needs.As such, we have a very flexible approach to encourage patients to engage in health care and work towards improving both their health and work towards maintaining their own accommodation.You will provide 1:1 counselling for patients with complex needs and likely a history of homelessness.We aim to provide a safe, individualised and effective service to all our patients.
