The service contributes to tackling inequalities in health through promoting and supporting people to develop healthier behaviours and lifestyles in the context of their own local communities.</p><p>As well as supporting the community with improving their physical and emotional heath, we also prioritise our staff wellbeing.   <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>You will join our team in Luton, working in and around the district, where we specialize in evidence-based psychological therapies. Alongside vast experience of working within Mental Health, you will also have experience of leading and managing teams with a proven ability to develop good therapeutic relationships with clients and working relationships with your colleagues.</p><p>You will also manage your own caseload and inspire your team to meet both service and individual targets, having an IAPT Supervision Course under your belt would be helpful too, but not essential.</p><p>In addition to talking therapies, we offer healthy lifestyle programmes including NHS stop smoking, health checks, and exercise on referral, social prescription, weight management and support with physical activity for people with long term health conditions.</p>

  <p>This role is located specifically within Core CAMHS. Core CAMHS is the part of the service offering evidence informed interventions for children and young people and their families who have moderate to severe difficulties. The post holder will ensure the systematic provision of a high-quality specialist clinical psychology intervention for Children, Young People and their families within our specialist mental health service. As a consultant you are a senior leader within the service and as such you would be expected to work alongside the Clinical Director, operational leads and principal grade psychologists to provide clinical support, expert consultation and supervision across specialist camhs and our service arm which offers supervision and consultation to the wider system (and partner agencies). We would expect you to have your own clinical case load and to 'lead by example'. As a Consultant Psychologist we would expect you to work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for governance of psychological practice within Children and Young People's mental health services.   <p>This post provides a fantastic opportunity to lead the integrated schools pathway in Central Beds, forming innovative and forward-looking services that are developing substantially across Central Bedfordshire . In Central Beds this includes an established our Wave 7, 11 Mental Health Support Teams (MHST), SCAS and our upcoming Wave 14 Team in January 2026. Mental Health Support Teams are part of an exciting project funded by NHS England, Health Education England and partners with the aim of improving the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people in the community in response to the government's Green Paper for Young People's Mental Health. Bedfordshire &amp; Luton CAMHS have been successful in benefitting from significant investment in this area. </p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>The post holder will be the Integrated Lead for the schools pathway teams across the Luton locality as we move towards an integrated schools offer in the coming year, and they will work with team operational leads and with the overall strategic Clinical Lead for CAMH Access Services to offer a comprehensive first step in mental health support, accessible and acceptable for all communities living in Luton, following the Thrive model. The post holder will lead the development of a wide range of targeted interventions, projects and system change with the aim of delivering whole school and community approaches to supporting young people's mental health. We aim to develop an integrated neighbourhood-based core offer to all schools across the locality, and an enhanced offer where there is greater need (such as in communities with greater health inequalities) over the next two years. </p>
