You will be based mainly within two foodbanks in the Spelthorne area and you will be supporting individuals who are experiencing mental health challenges, helping to identify immediate needs and provide reassurance during foodbank visits whilst helping to navigate the mental health system to ensure access to the appropriate services. You will have a confidential area to work in so individuals feel able to talk in confidence. This will also give you the opportunity to assess and identify when individuals require professional intervention and make appropriate referrals. It is key that you work collaboratively and build strong relationships and networks with relevant colleagues and agencies from the statutory and voluntary health, social care and wellbeing sectors to support individuals (e.g mental health services, GP s, social care teams and other services).
