  <p>Bexley MHST seeks to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic individual who are passionate about mental health support in schools, with a demonstrable track record of MHST clinical experience. This is a fixed term contract to cover the existing staff member's annual leave.</p> <p>This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified SWP, who has at least two year's post qualification experience as an EMHP, to build their experience as a Senior Wellbeing Practitioner (SWP) within a highly supportive, creative and dynamic team with the Bexley Mental Health Support Team.</p>

  <p>An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Band 8b registered clinical psychologist to work across the City and Hackney EQUIP and Heads Up Teams. EQUIP provides an assertive and responsive service to adults aged 18 - 65 for up to 3 years during their recovery from a first episode of psychosis. The service covers the City of London and London Borough of Hackney. Emphasis is placed on maximising wellbeing and on social, psychological, physical and educational/vocational recovery. The team works to standards set for early intervention in psychosis teams and participates in the annual National Clinical Audit on Psychosis. The team also works closely with the early detection team, HEADS UP, which provides support to those who are at risk of developing psychosis, and actively connects with local community groups in order to improve detection rates of this group.</p> <p>This post would be suitable for someone with significant experience, a strong interest in psychosis and early intervention and a collaborative approach to leadership. The successful candidate will be responsible for the provision of psychology across EQUIP and Heads Up. They will also work closely with the operational lead and consultant psychiatrists as a member of the senior management team.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
   <p>The principal psychologist role provides leadership to and management of the psychology staff within the service, as well as contributing to the senior management team within the service. The post holder will work alongside clinical and/or counselling psychologists already in post to support individuals who are experiencing or at risk of developing first episode psychosis and their families/carers.</p> <p>The post holder will supervise and line manage the psychological professions in the team and lead on other aspects of governance required to deliver an effective service. </p> <p>Whilst there may be opportunities for a small caseload as well as supporting the team with complex assessments and psychological consultations, the main focus of the role is on the team's provision of effective and timely psychological interventions in accordance with NICE guidelines for Early Intervention in Psychosis, and ensuring that the psychological professionals are suitably led and supported towards that aim. </p>

      <p>It is expected that PWPs will have a number of main roles, which include the following. </p> <p> Planning, managing, and implementing therapeutic interventions utilising a facilitated self-help approach. </p> <p> Face to face work with service users with common mental health problems such as anxiety, anger management and depression across service sites and GP surgeries.</p> <ul>  <li>Telephone Low Intensity work with service users.</li>  <li>Telephone liaison with other professionals to expedite signposting to other service where appropriate. </li>  <li>Integrated working with other elements of the services provided by THTT.</li>  <li>Work alongside practice teams including liaison with service users and carers, audit activity, and advice and support to GPs and practice staff. </li>  <li>Networking with the wider health and social care system.</li>  <li>Supporting and educating service users regarding medication regimes</li>  <li>Mental health promotion</li>  <li>To work with people from a diverse backgrounds in a culturally sensitive manner.</li>  <li>Assist service users to identify and effectively manage their emotional distress and psychological disturbance.</li>  <li>To organise and manage a substantial caseload of active cases, with workers completing treatment for 250 patients per year, and with an expectation of a minimum of 25 hours clinical contact per week for 1.0 WTE. </li>  <li>To provide information about other local services relevant to the clients needs and or cultural preferences.</li>  <li>To support and facilitate the use of the computerised cognitive behavioural therapy service and other media to support delivery of guided self-help packages of care as approved in NICE guidelines </li>  <li>To attend training appropriate to the role</li>  <li>Expected to innovate and be creative in terms of service delivery.</li>  <li>Expected to consolidate learning from PWP Training, </li> </ul>
