This is an exciting opportunity to join a Low-Intensity Team across Dorset.</p> <p>Dorset Steps 2 Wellbeing is a dynamic, and progressive service with a friendly and supportive team. You will work within NHS Talking Therapies, providing psychological interventions to people with mild to moderate common mental health problems, such as anxiety disorders and depression.</p> <p>As a psychological wellbeing practitioner, you will provide treatment to help support people by:</p> <p>Conducting patient interviews</p> <p>Carry out safety assessments,</p> <p>Provide phone, online, and face-to-face Guided Self Help sessions</p> <p>Liaise with other agencies, and signpost patients to services, such as housing and employment.</p> <p><strong>You must have either a Postgraduate Certificate in Low Intensity CBT with IAPT PWP status or an MSci Applied Psychology (Clinical) qualification to apply for this post.</strong></p> <p><strong>This is a fixed term role and for those with current NHS service, the role will be offered on a secondment basis only.   <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>The post-holder will work within the NHS Talking therapy service providing high-volume, low-intensity interventions which will be a range of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) based self-management interventions service to patients with mild to moderate anxietyand depression.</p> <ul>  <li>Accept referrals via agreed protocols within the service.</li>  <li>Assess and supports people with a common mental health problem in the self management of their recovery.</li>  <li>Provide a range of information and support for evidence based high volume low - intensity psychological treatments. This will included Guided Self Help, Computerised CBT, information about pharmacological treatments and Courses. This work maybe face to face, telephone or via other media.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of.   <p>Dorset HealthCare are seeking to recruit an<strong>Applied Psychologist (Clinical /Counselling Psychologist)</strong>to join the<strong>Glendinning Rehabilitation Inpatient Unit/Community Rehabilitation Team</strong>based in<strong>Dorchester, West Dorset.</strong></p> <p>Both teams have experience of working closely with psychology and value <strong>theApplied Psychologist's</strong>contribution through individual assessment/formulation and wider consultation to the team. You would be directly line managed by a clinical psychologist in a well-established team.</p> <p>The <strong>Applied Psychologist</strong>post is a part-time, permanent position working 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday. These hours can be met over a four-day period, or we can be flexible to meet your needs.   <p>We offer excellent development opportunities, including further psychotherapy training, mentoring, support and clinical supervision. Those who are already matched in skill would move automatically to Band 8 and we will provide additional support to enable career progression and professional development.</p> <p>The post holder will be required to manage their time effectively to enable them to provide psychological services across the 2 teams. This would include provision of specialist psychological assessments and interventions for clients. An important part of the role would include psychological consultation and case formulation to the wider team including training, clinical supervision and guidance around case management.</p> <p>If you are a newly qualified Clinical/Counselling Psychologist we can support, you through preceptorship process to Band 8A. You will work alongside a full multidisciplinary team including Qualified Psychologist, Occupational therapy, SaLT, Psychiatry and Nursing. Our schools and colleges provide support to children with Autism Spectrum Disorders, Asperger Syndrome, Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties, Social, Emotional Mental Health and Complex Needs.</p> <p>Job role</p> <p>Your role will be to support the qualified psychologist for a defined caseload of young people with Psychology specified in their EHCP, you will provide psychological assessment interventions with support from the Psychologist.</p> <p>Working autonomously, you will attend MDT student reviews, completes outcome measurements and care planning exercises for each student</p> <p>Taking a "hands on" approach it is essential that you will be a strong team player, with excellent communication skills.
