You will also provide a specialist clinical perspective in relation to other service users with whom you might not be directly involved. Reporting directly to the Lead Psychologist, you will be responsible for individual and group interventions, diagnostic and cognitive assessments, MDT working and risk assessments. You will also facilitate staff reflective practice sessions and be requested to design and deliver training.

As a Psychologist you will be:
<ul>
 <li>Working autonomously to provide a specialist psychology service to patients as agreed by Consultant Psychiatrist, Therapies Lead, Consultant Clinical Psychologist and in discussion with wider MDT.</li>
 <li>Undertaking specialist assessments.</li>
 <li>Providing specialist interventions according to formulations based on an appropriate conceptual framework, NICE guidelines, evidence from research, and in accordance with the wider MDT formulation and interventions.</li>
 <li>Be involved in running therapeutic groups on the ward as agreed.</li>
 <li>Continually monitor risk of all patients for whom there is direct contact, or regarding which the post holder receives relevant information, ensure acute risk is managed, liaise with MDT (and in particular responsible psychiatrist) regarding risk, and update electronic record including risk assessment as required.</li>
 <li>Ensuring that all clinical work is adequately recoded in the electronic patient record.</li>
 <li>Attending ward rounds (and other MDT meetings), case conferences, CPAs as required, and provide reports in advance for these in accordance with local procedures.</li>
 <li>Preparing clinical; reports as required, e.g. assessment reports, discharge summaries.</li>
 <li>Liaising with internal and external colleagues as required</li>
 <li>Completing all recording and reporting tasks associated with clinical work.</li>

Brighton &amp; Hove Clinic provides a CAMHS Tier 4 eating disorder service for young people aged 12 to 18 years with a primary diagnosis of an eating disorder: or those with eating difficulties with other co-occurring conditions such as depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder and self-harming behaviours. Our patients can also present with co-morbid attachment difficulties, ASC (both diagnosed and undiagnosed) and with emotion regulation difficulties. We provide individualised and formulation driven treatment programmes to support children and adolescents to begin their recovery and transition safely back into the community. Interventions include individual therapy, systemic family therapy, occupational therapy, therapeutic and activity groups, meal support sessions and a psychoeducational family support group.
The role is an exciting opportunity to join an established and passionate psychology team (made up of a Consultant clinical psychologist, Highly specialist cognitive-behaviour therapist, Apprentice clinical associate psychologist and Assistant psychologist), whilst also contributing to the development of an individualised and patient-centred service committed to improving clinical practice and effectiveness. The postholder will work collaboratively with both the school's Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and the Regional Clinical Lead. The role will be split between clinically leading the team and holding a therapy caseload. Working collaboratively with the team, the postholder will deliver bespoke assessment and intervention plans for our students who may present with complex profiles of need as a result of autism and other types of neurodivergence, developmental trauma and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. Meeting the needs of EHCP plans will be a primary focus in this role, target led, via the OFG 'all', 'group' and 'individual' clinical ways of working, embedded into our clinical practice.
