This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed Specialist Practitioner Psychologist / Specialist Psychological Therapist to join our supportive and innovative Urgent care teams. You'll work alongside psychology colleagues as part of a multi-disciplinary team committed to providing exceptional care to those experiencing a mental health crisis.</p>  <p>You will work with people with a wide range of mental health problems, their families and carers. Many people come to urgent care with their first experience of mental health difficulties as a result of bereavement, addiction, physical illness, domestic violence, onset of dementia, debt or workplace bullying; so we wouldwelcome applicants with a range of experience, who may not have worked in an acute or urgent care environment before. We also see a range of people with complex mental health difficulties with histories of service use and work closely with community teams, acute wards and other specialist services in Sussex; soexperience in these areas would also be welcomed.</p>

  <p>You will provide specialist crisis interventions for those referred into our service and help contribute to the multi-disciplinary team's thinking and care-planning, working closely with the team. Your primary role is to provide psychological assessment, formulation and short-term evidence-based therapeutic interventions for individualsand groups.Alongside this, youwill also provide consultation, training, and support: such as facilitation of reflective practice and case discussion. We work closely with OT, peer specialist and carer specialists which gives us particular flexibility and opportunity. We also have other psychological therapists<strong>,</strong>trainees and assistant psychologist(s)<strong>.</strong></p> <p>We approach our work as trauma informed and currently offer interventions for individuals and groups, informed byCBT, DBT and compassion focussed therapy.   <p>This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and energetic Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to work in Acute Mental Health. You will be working in a very dynamic environment, which will provide you with many opportunities to learn and develop your therapeutic and systemic skills. There will also be an opportunity to be creative and innovative within the role, bringing new ideas, incorporating evidence-based practice into how the service is delivered.</p> <p>Within the ward environment, you will have the opportunity to develop skills and expertise in the application of psychology not just at an individual level, but at the team and group level. A strong interest in pursuing consultation and leadership roles and developing skills in assessment and practice within a group context is desired. Running reflective practice sessions for staff, consider your position in the team and wider systemic issues, together with an interest in developing the skills to intervene via a range of formats, e.g., ward groups, staff consultation, families/carers and the MDT.</p> <p>You will be well supported through regular clinical and managerial supervision as well as training to develop both professionally and personally within the role.     <li><strong>We recruit for Counsellors to start in school in January, April or September in line with school term time. Please note the recruitment and onboarding process can take 2-3 months.</strong></li>

<p>Counsellors&nbsp;on Placement provide emotional and therapeutic support to children and young people aged 4-18 in Place2Be partner schools. As an organisation that has adopted the BACP ethical framework of good practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy, counsellors working within the organisation are dedicated to improving the mental health and well-being of the children they work with.</p>

    <li>Place2Be provides a high level of support to counsellors on placement through regular supervision, tailored training workshops and offers a well-recognised clinical placement*.</li>
    <li>We provide a comprehensive induction programme and clinical supervision is undertaken at the end of each day.</li>
    <li>We need you to be available for a minimum of one day per week to work in a therapeutic capacity with up to 3 children offering one-to-one counselling.</li>
    <li>Placements are term time only and run for one academic year. There are opportunities for you to stay with us beyond one year.</li>
    <li>You will have the opportunity to attend up to six optional workshops throughout the year which are recognised as continuing professional development time.</li>
    <li>Sessions spent with children are accepted as clinical hours towards professional accreditation, and are recognised by the BACP and UKCP.</li>
    <li>A placement is an excellent stepping stone into a job opportunity and career with Place2Be, over&nbsp;⅔&nbsp;of our clinical staff were once Counsellors on Placement.</li>

<p>All clinical hours gained on placement can be used towards accreditation with a body such as BACP and UKCP. If your course does not accept child hours but you would like to gain counselling experience of working with Children and Young People, you can still apply for a Place2Be placement as a second placement.</p>

<p>You will be a fully qualified Counsellor, Therapist or studying towards one of these professions at the following levels:</p>

    <li>Degree, MSc or MA in Counselling or Psychotherapy - if you are in your first year you will have relevant experience of direct work with children.</li>
