If so, we are currently looking for enthusiastic, forward thinking and self-motivated individual to join our multidisciplinary team in providing high-quality, person-centred support to people accessing care under the Perinatal Mental Health Service.We are looking to recruit an individual that has lived experience of mental health difficulties within the perinatal period as a Perinatal Peer Support Worker in our Mid and North East Hampshire patch.The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Perinatal Community Mental Health Team provides mental health support and services for birthing people and their families during pregnancy and up to 24 months after birth. The team prioritises people with moderate to severe and complex mental health needs. The service also provides consultation for advice, information and signposting for people with a less severe mental illness in the perinatal period to primary care providers including GP's Health visitors and maternity services as well as the birthing people themselves.



 <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
 Peer Support Workers are people with previous experience of using mental health services who are employed, trained and supported to use these experiences to support others. At the heart of the role is the building of safe, trusting relationships based on the sharing of lived experience. The focus of the peer worker role is on enabling individuals to discover and make use of their strengths, and to build and strengthen connections to their peers and wider communities.The successful applicant will be working alongside our other existing Peer Support Workers. The team's current base is Southern House in Otterbourne near Winchester.The role is part of an innovative service providing specialist assessment, support and treatment for women/birthing people and their families. The service is an early implementer site in developing a Maternity Mental Health Service and has close links with NHS Talking Therapy services with the aim of ensuring a clear pathway for women/birthing people in terms of their health and wellbeing during the antenatal and postnatal period.We offer candidates an excellent local induction to the team including peer to peer induction shadowing and opportunity to learn and expand knowledge around the specialism of Perinatal Mental Health care. In addition the Trust also offers a comprehensive Peer Support training package and opportunity to network within the PSW community in the trust, with a dedicated Peer Support Worker Lead.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals aspiring to become teachers or have previous experience supporting students with SEND or mental health needs. You'll be working closely with pupils on a 1:1 or small group basis, helping to nurture emotional wellbeing and provide tailored support within a compassionate school environment. The pupils have many needs, including Social, Emotional, Mental Health, Autism and behavioural difficulties. As a Mental Health Support Worker you will be part of a team of workers under the direction of the Class teachers, Specialist and SENCOs. You will be expected to work effectively with both teaching and support staff at all levels, as well as with parents/carers and students.The school based in Dibden Purlieu has a forward-thinking SEN department with excellent facilities and is led by a supportive SENCO.
