  <p>We are looking for a highly motivated Bank Band 6 physiotherapist to support the rehabilitation service at Farnham hospital. The role is comprised of 2 x 9-month rotations.</p><ul> <li>Inpatient Stroke Rehabilitation on Runfold ward, with some additional care of the elderly/neuro rehabilitation</li> <li>Split 60:40 neuro outpatients and community rehabilitation.</li></ul><p>You will be working as part of the multidisciplinary team working to provide rehabilitation for a wide range of neurological conditions. These patients may have acute or chronic neurological impairments often with complex presentations. In the inpatient stroke rehabilitation setting there will also be some input into Older peoples Rehabilitation .</p><p>You will be supported in the role by team leads who will steer the development of your role and clinical skills.</p><p>We actively participate in clinical supervision, in-service training and have an appraisal system to help develop you personally and your CPD. We also have a wide range of on-line training programmes to support your personal development. We support Band 5 physiotherapists on rotation and students from London and more local universities.</p><p>Base</p><p>Runfold ward, Farnham Hospital, Hale Road, Farnham, Surrey, GU9 0QS</p><p>The service operates Monday to Friday between 8:30am and 4:30pm with the occasional weekend and bank holiday working requirement.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>As a Bank Band 6 Physiotherapist you will:</p><ul> <li>To deliver high quality evidence-based treatment and rehabilitation to support the management of patients with a range of conditions.</li> <li>To maintain accurate records in line with the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy standards and Trust and service standards and policies.</li> <li>To communicate effectively with all disciplines involved in patient care, both within the organisation and those outside to ensure effective multidisciplinary working. This will include discussion of patient care, patient progress and involvement in discharge planning.</li> <li>To be able to communicate complex and sensitive information to patients, carers and other staff which may include imparting unwelcome news.</li> <li>Maintain confidentiality at all times</li> <li>Assess patients understanding of treatment proposals, gain valid consent and have the capacity to work within a legal framework with patients who lack capacity to consent to treatment.</li> <li>To have knowledge of and ability to use a range of verbal and non-verbal communication tools to communicate effectively with patients.   <p>Are you an experienced planning radiographer with a passion for radiotherapy planning? <p>The Royal Surrey Cancer Centre is focused on providing excellent patient pathways and patient-centred care.We strive to continuously evolve to reflect the technical advances within Radiotherapy, and work closely as a multi-professional team to achieve this. We have two Varian Halcyon units and a Varian Ethos unit, which enable us to deliver daily online adaptive radiotherapy. These units complement our four Varian TrueBeams and 3 CT Scanners across the two sites, within an Aria environment. External beam treatment planning is carried out using the Varian Eclipse system, and includes use of knowledge-based planning, autocontouring and scripting for automated workflows. We use MR imaging in treatment planning and further development of PET/CT is underway. The successful candidate will manage the planning team, initiating and leading on research and development projects to enable continuing implementation and expansion of state-of-the-art radiotherapy techniques.They will provide scientific support at the highest level for all aspects of the external beam radiotherapy service and ensure production of accurate, safe treatment plans within appropriate timescales.</p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>The post is based in our main site at the Royal Surrey County Hospital, Guildford.  Guildford gives easy access to the beautiful North &amp; South Downs Way, is an hour from the coast and has great transport links to the surrounding counties of Berkshire, Hampshire and Sussex.  The city offers cultural diversity, is home to the University of Surrey and it is great place to reside and explore. On occasion, attendance at our satellite centre at East Surrey Hospital in Redhill will be required.</p>

    <p>Reporting to the Head of Clinical Services you will hold accountability and responsibility for the SLT provision to all clients within our rehabilitation centre.</p><p>Leading and managing a specialist SLT team in a brand new state of the art rehabilitation centre. The team comprises band 6 and band 5 SLTs, an SLT assistant and we are proactive to have students.</p><p>To contribute to the continued development of a high quality SLT therapeutic service</p><p>To provide specialist dysphagia assessment and intervention to clients who require, utilising compotenceis and experience at a senior practitioner level.</p><p>To provide highly skilled communication assessment and intervention to all our clients with acquired brain injury, such as stroke, ABI and other neurological conditions, utilising compotenceis and experience at a senior practitioner level.</p><p>Delivering 1:1 and group SLT sessions to a range of clients and creating accessible communication and swallowing guidance for the wider MDT.</p><p>Conducting skilled mental capacity assessments independently or jointly with other professionals, as appropriate.</p><p>Having a key-worker role managing and overseeing a specific clients whole journey at QEF, liasing with families, being a single point of contact for all queries, co-ordinating care and discharge packages.</p><p>Advocating on clients behalf in a range of situations, eg. when writing reports, CHC forms and complex DST meetings where highly skilled reporting and ability to deal with questioning is necessary.</p><p>Closely working with the wider multi-disciplinary team PTs, OTs, Psychology team, dietitian, nursing, carers, kitchen staff, activity co-ordinators.
