  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <ul>  <li>Act as an advanced autonomous practitioner, demonstrating a high level of practice/knowledge whilst participating in direct evidenced based patient care working as part of a multi- disciplinary team providing professional and clinical support to patients.</li>  <li>Undertake autonomous health assessments; diagnosing, treating and discharging patients within own competence. You will provide expert care and treatment to patients within agreed protocols and clinical guidelines.</li>  <li>Function in a variety of role dimensions: health care provider, educator, researcher, clinical advocate and implementer of clinical governance.</li>  <li>Be a senior clinician within the team. The role will predominantly be clinical, but also include some operational leadership and supervision to your small team of junior staff</li> </ul>  <p>You will clinically lead a small team consisting of newly qualified Nurses, Nurse Associates and Support Workers to provide care and interventions to a complex caseload of patients. This will be as part of a wider team working alongside our primary care networks, supported by both psychiatric and psychological therapy clinicians.</p> <p>The service is open Monday to Friday 9:00 to 17:00 not including bank holidays.</p>

  <p><em>An exciting
opportunity has arisen to join our friendly Ultrasound team at BDGH NHS
foundation trust.</em></p><p><em>This friendly team provides ultrasound
services across two sites, one at the main hospital site and also the brand-new
community diagnostic centre in Barnsley town centre. This high-profile centre
is the first of its kind in this area, within a shopping centre and provides
ultrasound and other radiology services within the heart of the community. With
easy parking and being surrounded by retail units this centre is the ideal
place to work. Barnsley town centre has undergone a multi-million-pound
regeneration scheme and is a vibrant, bustling town offering good quality
retail outlets and leisure facilities. The nearby Peak district offers
beautiful scenery, walking and outdoor activities. There is easy access to the
M1 at both sites and the train and bus station is a five-minute walk from the
community diagnostic centre. A slightly longer walk or very short bus journey
will bring you to the main hospital site.</em></p><p><em> You will be actively encouraged to widen your
scope of practise as we provide a paediatric, musculoskeletal, head and neck
service and an expanding vascular service as well as more routine work in both
general and obstetric ultrasound. The sonographers here have a wide range of
experience and are always happy to share their knowledge. Particular areas of
interest will also be actively encouraged and we are hoping to expand our
sonographer led neck FNA service.</em></p>



  <h3>Main duties of the job</h3>
  <p>The purpose of this role is to
provide an independent, cost effective, accurate ultrasound service.</p><p>The successful candidate will
have a high level of clinical competence in a wide range of ultrasound
techniques. A Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Ultrasound or equivalent and
current state registration is essential as is excellent interpersonal and communication
skills.</p><p>The successful candidate will
demonstrate good team work and be compliant with all mandatory training
including clinical governance and protection.</p><p>Experience of working in an NHS setting is
