Job Role: We are looking for a friendly and reliable volunteer to assist a person with vision impairment by providing transportation and companionship for outings. This could include trips to appointments, shopping, social activities, or simply getting out and about.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive the individual to various locations safely and comfortably
- Offer friendly conversation and companionship
- Assist with small tasks if needed (e.g., guiding in unfamiliar places)
- Be patient, supportive, and respectful of their needs
What We’re Looking For:
- A friendly, chatty, and caring person
- A safe and responsible driver with a valid license and a clean driving record
- Someone with past care experience (preferred but not essential)
- A willingness to help make outings more enjoyable and accessible
- Someone who is able to undertake sighted guide training
