DBIS is seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic University & Careers Guidance Counsellor to join our Secondary School. The person will build upon our current provision for supporting students within the Secondary phase of DBIS to ensure that all of our Year 11–13 students have an individualised support pathway for their university and careers choices. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be appointed Lead Counsellor immediately upon commencement of the post, or within the near future, based on performance.

We are looking for an exceptional candidate who loves working with students. The successful applicant will be a university counsellor who wants to be part of a forward-thinking, dynamic team of collaborating professionals who ensure that our students are able to have world-class opportunities after they graduate from DBIS.

To be considered, it is essential to have:

  • Genuine enthusiasm and commitment to supporting every student to make the best choices for their future pathways.

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.

  • Either a relevant postgraduate teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, B.Ed.) or an appropriate university counselling qualification.

  • Significant experience in university counselling or university admissions.

  • Confidence with the admissions process for universities around the world, in particular the United Kingdom, Europe, Australia, Canada, the USA and Hong Kong.

  • Strong organisational skills along with exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills.

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

New University & Careers Guidance Counsellors are offered two-year renewable contracts.

The competitive compensation package includes:
