A rare and exciting opportunity to work in a paid full time training role as a Systemic Family Practitioner (SFP) in Calderdale.
We are currently recruiting for a new training post to start the Postgraduate Certificate in Evidence Based interventions to commence in January 2026.
SFP trainees provide low intensity interventions for anxiety, depression and conduct problems including guided self-help.
The trainee will work with Invictus Wellbeing in Calderdale, with employment as a qualified SFP on successful completion of the 12 month training course (funding allowing)
The post is part of the Children and Young Peoples Psychological Trainings initiative which is intended to increase and upskill the children & young peoples mental health workforce.
Applicants should have experience of supporting children and young people with their mental health/wellbeing. They need to be willing to undertake an intensive training course and they must be able to demonstrate the aptitude to study at Level 7.
The 1 year full time training course is provided by Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust in partnership with the University of Manchester and trainees will study in person for one or two days per week. The rest of the working week will be based in-service using the skills gained during the training.
Trainee CYWPs are paid on NHS Agenda For Change pay band 5 (or equivalent), and will progress to NHS band 6 (or equivalent) on successful completion of the 12 month training.
Main duties of the job
1. To work within the Open Minds Partnership & Invictus Wellbeing to offer timely, accessibleand effective therapeutic interventions to children and young people.
2. To provide assessment, interventions, therapy to children, young people with the mostsevere, complex and persistent mental health problems, including those who are severelymentally ill or at suicidal risk and where appropriate, families as both an autonomouspractitioner and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a variety of settings to address need.
3. To identify and report safeguarding incidents, in line with relevant policies and procedures.
4. To be committed to a quality approach for patient care.
5. The post-holder will demonstrate high levels of concentration and provide sustained effort inassessment of complex family issues.
6. To manage busy caseloads; ensuring effective communication with families, professionals,
staff, CYPs and more.
7. To operate within the clinical and case management supervision framework and engageeffectively with clinical supervision on a weekly basis.
8. To work during Invictus Wellbeing hours and support our buddy system where appropriateon one evening session a week.
9. To use a range of IT systems including patient record systems and Gmail, ensuring highquality data is collected appropriately, kept securely and confidentially
11. To engage and manage your educational responsibilities and ensure all deadlines are met.

- Working in community or primary care based teams
