Victoria Shanghai Academy (VSA), Hong Kong is now recruiting enthusiastic and committed teacher for the above position for the school year beginning August 2026:

Key responsibilities:

1. School support.
● Contribute to the school counselling programme, including but not limited to needs analysis, screening / early identification and referral of students with mental health needs and social, emotional and behavioural problems
● Provide consultation for staff and contribute to training for staff and parents on issues related to mental health and wellbeing
● Work with relevant community professionals and agencies as needed to support students
● Provide crisis management support as necessary


2. Preventative Programmes
● Develop and conduct psycho-educational sessions for students and parents on mental health issues
● Develop and make available mental health resources for students, parents and staff


3. Responsive Services.
● Provide individual and group counselling to students
● Work with staff, parents and community professionals and other agencies regarding students in counselling
● Develop safety plans for individual students as necessary
● Liaise with the learning support departments on students with learning issues
● Provide direct crisis intervention and follow-up for students affected by critical incidents

The ideal candidate will have:
● A professional counselling qualification such as a Diploma or a Masters degree in Counselling or Social Work
● A minimum of two year's work experience in socio-emotional counselling with adolescents (ages 10 to 19). Previous school counselling experience and running wellbeing classes and a mentoring programme an advantage
● Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to write clearly and persuasively
● Excellent English and Proficiency in Chinese (Putonghua and/or Cantonese Speaking)
