Descriptions & requirementsThis is an exciting opportunity to join a well established, highly skilled psychology and programmes team at HMP Wakefield (Category A, part of the Long Term and High Security Estate), working primarily with a PCoSO prisoner cohort. The successful postholder will play a key role in providing clinical consultancy to support the delivery of the Building Choices Accredited Offending Behaviour Programme, working closely with Specialist Treatment Managers and the department's Programme Manager. In addition, the role offers opportunities to contribute to a broader range of psychological work across the establishment, including specialist areas and supporting individuals presenting with high risk and complex needs. The position sits within a supportive and collaborative team structure, with access to regular clinical supervision, strong CPD opportunities, and links to wider psychology services.
Working Arrangements & Further InformationThe MoJ offers Hybrid Working arrangements where business need allows. This is an informal, non-contractual form of flexible working that blends working from your base location, different MoJ sites and/or from home (please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas). Some roles will not be suitable for Hybrid Working. Arrangements will be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate(s) and subject to regular review.
For nationally advertised roles, the successful candidate(s) will be appointed to a MoJ office location, which may include their nearest Justice Collaboration Centre or Justice Satellite Office. This will be discussed and agreed on the completion of pre employment checks.
Standard full time working hours are 37 hours per week excluding breaks which are unpaid. HMPPS welcomes part time, flexible and job sharing working patterns, where they meet the demands of the role and business needs. There is a requirement to work some public and bank holidays subject to your shift pattern and operational needs of the establishment.

Senior Registered Psychologist - Band 8 220 SRP.
Assessment and SelectionWe will assess your experience for this role via CV/Work History, Statement of Suitability and specific membership requirements. The post requires co ordinating clinical supervision experience for trainees, with at least 18 months post registration experience at the time of application (two years required for formal appointment). Applicants should be professional psychologists, experienced in clinical supervision, and have completed relevant training in effective treatment models. Chartered Psychologist status and full membership of the relevant BPS division are preferred.
Evidence of experience is obtained through CV or Work History and Statement of Suitability.
Interview stage assessments will include behaviours such as Making Effective Decisions, Leadership, Communicating and Influencing, Working Together, Developing Self and Others, Managing a Quality Service. Strengths will be assessed but are not shared in advance.
Level of security checks required: Counter Terrorism Check (CTC).
